I've got a Ge Force Fx 5200 128mb AGP 8x. It cost me USD $60 only.. It a good card.. I run at Ultra High Graphics Mode at 1024x768. But check your ram too. if its only 128 or 256 you need more.. i have 512mb ram.before 512 i had 128 and it tottally sucked. so its not only the graphics card but ram too.

All you need is a decent graphics card that can support directX9.0c and handle 3d rendering with at least 128meg on board. The rest is up to the power of your motherboard/Processor, amount of RAM and how fast your harddrive seek times are.

Try this along with the excellent advice already suggested...
I went to a PC shop and asked the same question you did, and got the same response. But I know a bit more about FS than the salesman does so I know he was not very well informed. Then went to a PC shop that had FS actually running on a system. Did a flight and was mucking about with the settings and the salesman came over. Well, now he knows how much FS requires for CPU and graphics power! :) They had all settings at low with just default a/c and were showcasing the graphics with it. I set them up on high and we were actually both amazed at how good the monitor and graphics were at rendering it...but the CPU slowed down to a crawl. Graphics card they had? Nvidia 6600. CPU? AMD 3000 system. So...if you can, try to go to a shop where they have it running, or ask them if they wouldn't mind installing it on one of their systems. Worse answer you can get is a 'no'. Best answer..."sure". Then decide. You wouldn't buy a car based on pics from a magazine would you? You gotta test drive it...

well if it was a lamborghini , ferrari , porche, dodge, aston martin or an american bad ass shelby i wouldnt mind not test driving it. i'd buy just looking at the magazine.. see my point here. dont buy cheap card like i did. even thou fs2004 works flawlessly at maximum ultra high graphic other games dont..
