I am having parking code problems. When ever I land at Chicago O'Hare, I want my plane to go to the proper terminal. For instance, when I fly United, I want to park at Terminal 1, with the other United Airline planes, and if it is an international flight I want to go to Terminal 5, with the other international flights. I give my plane a parking code using Lee Swordy's AFACD program, but I still get the same results. I fly for 3 or 5 hours, and all that is ruined when ATC directs me to the cargo section, or just the completely wrong Terminal.
I desperately need help, because I want to enjoy flying to my city's airport in my sim. HELP!

Axiom,

I have the answer to your problems. But the misleading title is crap. You got my attention, and then lost it when I read further on.

Assuming your gates at ORD are assigned by AFCAD, while AI A/C will go where they are supposed to, ATC won't do this for flown A/C. So, you have to fiddle with gate numbering and radii ('radiuses') , and if applicable, request the gate group (A,B,etc. that lists that gate. You may/will have to assign a gate group letter to that set of gates to accomplish this, but it will get it to work. Lot of trouble and a PITA, but it works. I've done it many times. So why the misleading header???

Title changed.

Axiom, get AFCAD ver 2 and assign the parking to United. Easy and fast. Do check out the readme with it as it explains the process in an easy and informative way.

I did use afcad to assign my a/c to the terminal, and all the gates have a letter and then a number, example: B19. I put the code UAL on one of my planes using afcad, and checked if this is the right code. would not work. I also changed the raduis of the plane to match the gate raduis using afcad, but still nothing. sorry for the title, and thanks Exx for changing it. Sorry ardie, can I still have your idea?

FS is not entirely accurate when asssigning gates. Make sure they are accessible via taxi points, and the gates are assigned to the airline in question with ample parking. RAFCAD doesn't matter much in FS9 as it did with FS2002/Pro. FS9 actually disregards it to a certain degree.

Yeah Axiom,

Sorry for being an ass.

I was going to point you in the same direction Exx did. But it looks like that you already have it.

I usually change the a/c's id and all and then give them a seperate parking space ID, with the radius being bigger than it needs to be.

Why do I see your responce as much more simpler, oh yeah, it is. Thanks ardie, and sorry. Please don't fire back at me, I have enough problems already. Thanks, and sorry.
