This means that the weather conditions at that airport have exceeded the maximum allowable conditions for VFR operation. VFR stands for "visual" flight rules. If you can't see, it’s hard to fly "visually" lol. So, you would just have to fly IFR instead.

LOL, Nathan. Good one! Never thought of it. But when ATC denies my request, I just change to IFR. I don't wanna get into airport trouble lol! Well, a not-so-good idea is not listening to ATC, since they are there for your safety.

| i was playing around with my machine weather settings, set everything to maximum.. VFR out of KCHS, visibility = 0, winds: East @ 175knts, Dense cloud cover from 0 - 5000 feet becoming broken 5000-10,000 then scattered to 30,000. Heavy Severe thunderstorm all around........... really really nasty... i dont know how i did it, but i VFR take off, and landing just fine... hmmm ATC denied Take off AND Landing, but i didnt listen... guess if i start a VA no one will fly on my planes cause they will say im a psycho for flying in that.. lol    |

I do disobey ATC only, and ONLY if I have to, like when for example ATC always requests me to go around while there is no safety issue on the rw, or when it is foggy and ATC denies my request to land (I use APR *lol*) and/or take-off. (I hate it when that happens... )
