| Well, I am sure that you are not the only one interested in a better, faster, bigger CFS. So why dont you take on this assignment for all of us here and try to contact the gurus at game development over at Microsoft and see if you can get a statement on future development for CFS. Then do us the favor of writing up a short piece on what you have found out and from whom, then post it here. Thank you and welcome to Surclaro.com |

I was fortunate enough to have a connection at work that had a video copy Bill Gates Product team speaking to a LOCAL AREA SDK Internet group of Professionals who do MSFT business daily.
They are involved with the gaming end in the Denver, Colorado. I was living 20 miles North of Denver at the time in 04.
In the talk, Bill Gates was posed that very same question on a NEW RELEASE in XML and the latest game software techniques to make CFS 4. It seems with the amount of money spent on FS9 and now going straight into FSX in one year at the most is a task even the big boys must be "account careful". They opted to put ALL their efforts in FS9 and have now completely set aside product support or anything for the MSFT CFS1 Cd. It is the BEST Fighter Sim around for all the categories. The sheer fact tht it ran on Win98 and above up (including NT 4.0 FOR FUTURE XP, lol!) is a GENIUS piece of work.
What now? WAIT. They will get to it, it is not a super hot priority. So just hang on to any copies of CFS1 you can.
The nest version will be the HOT. For Vista OS & backward compatability to Win 2K most likely. Same file structure or better: NTFS. 64 bit more like them to build upon. Push lots of us into buying a new mobo with 64 bit framework. LOL I can use another 32 bits in my soup, it is FASTER. Palay with those 800/ 1500 Mhs Mobo.
