Hi

I`m planning to build a PC that allows me to fly without restrictions even with photo realistic scenarios. This are the parts that i`ve decided for my rig:

AMD x2 4400+
Asus A8N32 Sli Deluxe
2G Ram TWINX2048-3500LLPRO Dual Channel
Nvidia 7800 GTX 512
2 WD Raptors 36 raid 0
2 Hitachi Desktar T7K250, SATA-II raid 0

The questions are: Is the 7800 GTX 512 the best graphic card for FS2004? What about the new ATI X-1900XTX? Does the SLI or crossfire configuration improve the game experience?

FS 2004 is not usually used in benchmarks and i would like to hear your opinions.

Thx from spanish flyer :)

FS2004 doesn't support SLI...

Good answer.

And then, do you know if the new version will do it?

Check out the Blogs from several members of the Microsoft team.

Scroll down the left side of this link and select the various people and then read what they have to say. It is a lot of reading but it contains a lot of forsight. 8) 8)

The desired rig you planned, jacold, will probably last for over a generation before you have to buy another one. A 7800 should be good enough for modern games...

Check out this link which talks about the delayed release of Windows Vista.

PS: I am planning to let you rich guys spend your money building a new configuration now. My current setup is great for FS9. However, I plan to wait until the year 2007 to spend my money. I am keeping my money in the bank where it will collect interest. When the new Operating System and FSX are finally released, I I will have enough money saved up to buy an appropriate configuration. 8) 8)

My 2 cents...Nvidia has AWFUL drivers and support for their product suks....If I had to do it all over again I would definately go with ATI. All the NVIDIA rocks, kicks ... Hogwash in my humble opinion...

ATi is currently beating NVIDIA in many benchmark tests. In about two more years, NVIDIA will overwhelm ATi. You can't really say which manufacturer is the best. These manufacturers are excellent and each has pros and cons. Just do research.
