The drivers are causing me to get the blue screen of death Support says these are our e-mails.

"I removed the files you told me to and It still recognizes that i had an older version installed. I am not sure why but then it asks to remove it in the driver install and I still get the access denied error.

I couldn't remove the source file it said access denied when I tried to delete the saitek folder from program files

ok when you did that fix with removing the source files you don't then need to go to add/remove programs - just reinstall the drivers and software from here: http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=8486

I unpluged the controller and started the programs in run, ny-7 didn't work but the other did. When I went to add remove programs, and clicked change remove for the sst programming software it went a little bit on the bar and then I got a message saying "error extracting supported file: Access denied" I am pretty sure this program is what is causing me to get the blue screen of death because it says "bug_code_usb_driver" I downloaded the new software for the controller and it says old version found would you like to remove, I push yes and then It starts and I get the same error message as in the add remove programs.

Okay,

First unplug your controller, click Start>Run and type

nx -Mu -Sk

or

ny -7


(case sensitive - if they're not present don't worry - just carry on) and click OK. Now go to Control Panel and run the Add/Remove Programs icon. Remove all Saitek entries in the list of programs and then go to the C:\Program Files directory and delete the Saitek folder. Restart your computer and the files will all be uninstalled.

Now browse to your C:\Windows\Inf folder (if you can't see an Inf folder then click Tools>Folder Options at the top of the window, then click View at the top of the window that comes up. In there click the dot next to the Show Hidden Files and Folders option and then click OK - you should now be able to find an Inf folder in the Windows directory) and look for the OEM0.inf file. Find the highest numbered OEMXX.inf file and double click on it - a Wordpad screen will open up with information in it. You're looking for any lines that refer to Saitek (usually at the top of the window). If you don't see any such info close that window and open the next OEMXX.inf file - so if you started on, say, OEM30.inf then you'd now open OEM29.inf.

If you find any that refer to us then close the window and delete that OEMXX.inf file along with its accompanying OEMXX.pnf file. Go through all of them until you have deleted any files that mention us.

Now do a search for files in Windows using the following search string:

sai*.*

Once it's finished finding any files delete them - files only though, don't delete any folders

I cannot remove the software because I was getting the blue screen of death from it I wanted to reinstall it.
When I try to uninstall it in add remove programs I get an error saying, "Error extracting supported files" I even tried removing the folder from program files and tried reinstalling with a download and cd.

If you know the file paths, then why not boot up in safe mode, but dont do a full start. Then locate the files you want gone in DOS mode and delete them the old fashioned way. When in windows safe mode, the Saitek profiler wouldnt be loaded and therefore should be vulnerable to deletion. Good luck.

is f8 safe mode? when should I push it? what is DOS? what do you mean by don't do a full start? can you use add remove programs in safe mode would that work? also could you look at the files he told me to delete and see if that is all of them?

if you are running Windows xp, it does not have DOS. it has a DOS look-a-like. DOS was something back in the 80s and 90s that computer manufactures used to control windows, but from 2000 till now, no computers use DOS in the operating systems.

F8 could be safe mode depending on what kind of computer you have. I have a DELL Inspiron 2200 Laptop that I run FS9 on. My safe mode is on F8. As soon as you see the GATEWAY / DELL / HP / COMPAQ / SONY logo on your screen, hit F8 only 1 time. this will bring up a boot menu from which you can select "normal start", or "start in safe mode".

Safe mode allows you to roam around the inside of your computer with having only the bare neccesities of programs runnings, Such as WinXP, antivirus, pointing devices, and a couple others. You can use Add / Remove Programs while in safe mode, but I would suggest if you know the file path name (example: C:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftGames\FlightSimulator9) to go directly to that folder and either uninstall it or simply right click and delete that entire folder.

from SAFE MODE go in and try to uninstall / delete the drivers or any programs that you no longer wish to have on your computer. then simply go to START > TURN OFF COMPUTER > RESTART and allow it to boot up normally with you telling it to go anywhere or do anything special.

I don't know in safe mode I get the same error message. Error extracting support files: Access denied. I am the administator on the computer.
