My altitude does not hold when I have my autopilot on. I take off, switch my AP on, press ALT, and put in my desiered alutitude in the altitude select window. The plane just goes down and does not rise at all. My throttle is full. It's with all of my planes, even the default ones. I tried re-installing and it did nothing.

Have you tried putting a climb speed in?

Yeah, I put it at like 3,600 and it does nothing.

The first thing that comes to mind right now is that you're putting "3600" in the wrong area. "3600" should go under "Vert Speed", and your desired altitude under "Altitude". Another mistake that's common is that people input the wrong number. Instead of 36,000 feet, people have accidentally put in 3,600.

ok say i put 38,000 feet. it goes to like 10,000 and then dips. and im putting the 3600 in the thing next to the seclect alitutde window

I have never had my AP not work. Please excuse me, you must be doing something wrong. 3600 ft. VS (vertical speed) is a very steep AOA (angle of attack) for most aircraft. (if you're going up anyway) Unless you're in a powerful jet, it's a stall waiting to happen. You said it's the same for all your aircraft. What switch are you using to turn your autopilot on? It's not always the same one for every a/c. In the 747 you have to hit CMD ALT. Then dial in your altitude. Actually, you should dial in your altitude first.

Please tell us exactly what you do when you turn your autopilot on. This will give us a better idea of how to help you.

I apologize if my questions are insulting. They are not ment to be so. We need to know what you're doing in order to help you. :)

P.S. It could also be a controler issue. In some games my joystick makes things move, even if I don't touch it at all. You might need to adjust the deadband on your joystick.

Configure the AP just like you normally do and take a screen shot of it in the 2D view. Post it here and we'll take a look.

Not enough resolution to see what you were doing. What speed are you doing at take off? Are you retracting your gear and flaps at the correct speeds? Test your trim using numpad 1 & 7 (without num lock on) before you put on AP to see what happens. Calibrate your joystick before you take off. And finally, set your speed to a minimum of 250Kts.

Apart from the fact that your going WAY too fast for 3,000ft, im lost. I really cannot see whats wrong.
Double check your trim manually, hold down the no: 1 button on the keypad and see if your plane climbs.
