So this is the G80? I expected it to be something like a GDDR4 and a 1GB mem or something. Oh well... Im SURE its going to kick my FX5500s a$$ from here to Pluto anyways LOL
Any news on the ATI R600?

| Whaaat?!! Well. I guess I will have to wait longer until next-gen cards with GDDR4, DX10, unified shaders, etc. are released. |

Kind of disappointing as GDDR4 is supposed to kick GDDR3's a$$ in terms of performance.. and the fact that they haven't got 1GB of mem as expected. *sigh* oh well.. Just out of curiosity, is there a nVIDIA 8900 or 8950 coming out (soon)??
And as I asked earlier, any news on the ATI R600?

Hey guys, you should know me by now. I am dissappointed as you all are. But, I am waiting in the rafters for it to come to us. It is coming, fear not. Just wait........about another 3-4 months.
Honestly, I say around March or April '07, and all will be good.
Vista will be out ( and I'm sure with patches to follow in 6 months), DX10 and compatible cards with GDDR4 as well as compatible ram and G-Cards, will be ready.
Rome wasn't built in a day. Today it could. But technology as fast as it is coming, still needs time. |

| If I ever become a contestant for the television show "Who wants to become a Millionare", I will use RD as one of my lifelines. He is very wise. I second his motion to "SLOW DOWN AND WAIT". As you'all know by now, I have tried to discourage the youngsters from running upto daddy's bedroom asking him for money to buy new "stuff". 8) 8) |

Sorry Skipper, but its our Temptations that drive us wild  I had it a lot before, an dI am now calming down from the hihg temptation to get FSX when my dad was in Holland (my uncle has it and i was totally jealous about it). But I have decided to take RD's advice to wait till April.
BTW, the Intel Core 2 Quadro is out! 8)

Pretty cool. One G80 card has about the equivalent power as Two X1950XTX cards in CrossFire. Wow 8O That is just amazing.
Now the thought comes to me how the R600 would stack up against the G80 :) . I'm sure this will become a hot competition (if it already is). Especially with this GDDR4 thing and mem
