I want ot know some things about FS9 I wonder if you guys could help me out.

1- Is it possible to shorten in time or do you have to really fly 12 hours from Europe to South America?

2- I know FS9 has the abbility to muliplayer and i read some posts about it, but then when I file in the Ip- address wich I actually read on that post, I couldn't enter because I needed a password. So I wanted to ask if soem had an IP-address for me with a password,or and IP-adress in wich I don't need a
password?

3- I finally got a Joystick :D. But there's a problem. cause when I'm in the air
and i let go the joystick the pitch goes down, I want that when I let go the joystick it will level out the plane , is this possible? And if Yes how?

4- What does trim actually do? I can't figure it out. The flight instructor says that it is for something like speed. It thought it was for attitude. But I don't know could someone please explain?

1. Yes. While flying, bring up the top tool bar, click options, and there is a *simulation rate*. click that and you can your 12 hour flight to about 12 mins.

2. Where are you going for MP flights?? On FShost you dbl click the one not locked by password. Read the gray pop-up box. When you do this, then set everything up for a flight. Enter MP, highlight the IP address, then hit *Ctrl + V*. This will put in that sessions IP address. Then click search, and the big box will show that session. Click on it, and then join. As to joining the locked ones, I would wait before trying to access them. You will more than likely need to be very proficienct in all aspects of flying a plane. Some will require other things, such as Teamspeak.

3. Have you calibrated your joystick?? New or used. You can calibrate it in the settings option. Also, what brand/type is it.

4. Trim is basically, for laymens terms, a leveler. When at altitude and speed, an a/c will have a tendency to start dropping or keep rising when YOU try to keep it level. Trim adjusted in small amounts, will change the pitch of the a/c, and will therefore help keep you level.

A quick short-cut to the "sim Rate" is: "R" and "-" or "=" simultaniously to speed up or slow the flow of time.

2. Look at the pic attached. You highlight a servor, and it magically shows you the IP. Most people use FSHOST, just google it, and you can find it easily.

3. Sorry, if it is used. Just start FS9, go to settings, and then to hardware, then to calibrate joystick. Then do what it says.

4. If your nose is pointing down, trim up. If your nose is going up, then trim down.

There are several digital panel clocks out there that have a click button allows you to set the rate to fast forward... I call them warp clocks. They are handy on long flight heavies...

I believe the 747 has one on its panel... I put one on my A380 panel for long flights to the far east...

I don't need a warp clock on the turbo prop communters I fly most often. The flights are 4 hours at most... I just kick back and play card games on an old computer and watch the weather, terrain, and tcas radar...

Tj

P.S. Interesting article in this months Flying Magazine about the life of airline pilots flying East Coast to Europe... A hard life,,, not for everybody... Not much chance for exercise. I guess running down the isle would spook the passengers.. :D

I did what you said RD,
I downloaded the program FShost 3.2b1, but then when I start the program I says:

Master Server registration aborted. The Master Server attempted to verify your server by requesting a web page from it, but was not able to connect to your IP address () on port 80. If you have a router or firewall, please change it to allow port 80 to be forwarded to your machine. For help, see the FAQ page under the Help menu. Also, please verify your IP address on the Options / Master Server window. FSHostSpy will not be able to show your server.

What do I have to do about it?

Sorry, my mistake.

Go to this link http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshostspy/ . This is for FSHostspy1.2. This is where you can get into and on the major players of Multiplayer Flights.

Sorry about the confusion.

Did you go back into Create a Flight, and choose all options, and then fly now.

You have to hit fly now to be able to fly, same with Multiplayer. You have to fly to fly.

ok. here it is broken down in plain english for a 3 yr old. MULTIPLAYER::

1. start up your simulator.

2. click on multiplayer

3. in the IP ADDRESS BOX, type in 437th.hopto.org (or the ip address of a friends computer, or flight group that you wish to join)

4. click on search.

5. click on the server that pops up

6. click JOIN at the bottom

7. on the left hand side of the screen, click on CREATE FLIGHT

8. Choose whatever plane you want to fly ... click OK after you choose it

9. Choose whatever airport you want to start at ... click OK after you choose it

10. Choose your weather settings if you want ... click OK after you choose it

11. Change the Time/Date and Season of when you want to fly......... if you want it early morning, day time, evening, or night time........ and summer / fall / winter / or spring ... click OK after you choose it

12. click FLY NOW to get into your airplane that you chose and go fly it!!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

as for trim:: Pitch trim is used in small increments to try and level out your plane while in flight; not just landings. while in flight, a REAL AIRPLANE always has its nose pointed ^up just a little due to the function of "LIFT" of air passing over the wings, and thus causing the plane to always want to go HIGHER UP. Pitch Trim tries to counter-act this "LIFT" and tries to help make the plane fly almost perfectly level... or at least not go UP anymore.

(then you bring in DRAG which tries to slow you down. AND Thrust being air and exhaust pushed out the rear of the engines {or down from a rotor on helicopters} and you will have flight.)

Back to your joystick... 1 of the buttons on your joystick should make the nose go up, and 1 should make it go down....... you have to ****!!!! TAP !!!!**** them (NOT) hold them down ... so that the nose will go up or down slightly. {{ if you hold them down for a few seconds the nose will go up or down real fast and it will be hard to control if you have no clue of what you are doing }}

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you truely have no clue how to fly... START WITH THE FLYING LESSONS!!! (THIS CAN NEVER BE SAID ENOUGH!!!! -- it will TEACH you how to fly!!) {{off subject--why doesnt MICROSOFT put a basic flight dynamics tutorial on the CD's for people that have no clue of the basics of flight???}}

Hope this rambling helps in some way.

As for the part for MP thnx I didn't tried it out yet but I will , or els I will come back here :p

For the trim, I think I get your part , but what does the flight instructor say about, if you want to maintain your speed you can trim the airplane, for example, he gives you the assignment to set RPM to 2100 and then do the trim to maintain this speed, what does he mean by that?

P.S.

Dude why do you complain about my flying skill, Who said I'm not following the lessons, as a matter of facts I'm and the part where I have to intercept the VOR, so If I don't get a part you shouldn't think of people that they don't follow the lessons, cause I actually do!
