I am just wandering, do you prefer the control column/ yoke or the joystick:?:

for simming or in real aircraft?

If you are going to fly an aircraft that uses a stick, then you should fly with a joy stick. If you are going to fly aircraft that use a yoke, then you should fly with a yoke.

PS: I just got home from giving a tour of the local airport to a small Boy Scout troup. After the kids left, I walked around the hangers to talk to some of my friends. I spend some time with my friend Ron who owns and flys a Texas T6/SNJ. Ron allowed me to climb up onto the wing and look into the cockpit. Perhaps next time, I will ask him if I can climb into the aircraft and sit in the pilot's chair. As I was looking into the cockpit, I leaned over and asked Ron, "Where is the yoke?". He smiled and proceeded to tell some of his pilot stories. In one of his stories, he told me that a T6/SNJ is a real aircraft and the T28 has a "training wheel" which is his description of aircraft with the third wheel in the front unlike his T6/SNJ which is a "Tail Dragger". I suspect that if I stayed any longer, he would have made a similar comparison of Yoke vs Stick.8) 8)

well, for simming, I'm getting a CH yolk so I guess yolk for simming

for real life I like the A321 so I guess for real life I guess I need to go with a stick (as awkward as it is to have 100 tonnes at the flick of your wrist) :D

i agree with skipper, but if i could only use one, i would use a stick, just as i do.

They are more versatile
You can fly a Cessna with a stick, and it wouldn't feel that unusual. However, if you fly a fighter jet with a yoke, thats a bit on the odd side. (i would imagine, never used a yoke for a fighter)

They can do more
The yoke with the most buttons i ever saw was a CH with like 5. The stick with the most buttons i have ever seen was my x52, which has upwards of 20. Also, my stick can control the rudder. A yoke requires petals, which is more money out of your pocket.
