alright, I will admit... my PC has troble running FS7 really sad I know to just upgrade from FS8-FS9 I needed to spend 200 dollars on RAM and a new Video Card. But now FSX has come out and its the craze for every simmer. Like everbody else I want to get it. I have bought but then returend it the next day because I don't have a DVD drive. so thats the first thing on my shopping list, a DVD drive for my PC. The next thing I will probably need is a new processor right now I have an Intel Pentium3 inside my comp. if you don't know that means a whopping 800MB of processing power! next I think I need some more RAM, I only have 612MB in there right now so thats a no brainer. I have a broadband internet connection so thats not an issue. I need a DVD drive, more RAM, a new processor and FSX, but I don't know how much I kneed for a good FPS running, Excellent detail, Functional FSX, any "dosage" recomendations?

OK then, for FS2002 OR FS2004, here is my list of parts, for a screaming system, and budget smart:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3800+ (socket 939)
O/S: XP Home or Pro
G/C: 6800GT or 7800GT 256mb
P/S: 500w no smaller
HD: 120 GB
RAM: 1,536MB (1.5GB)

For a decent FSX system, here is the following.....

OS: VISTA ULTIMATE
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+
M/B: Asus A8N SLI PREMIUM
G/C: Hard to say yet, still in development
RAM:2 GB Corsair, PC3200 (1GB ea, for starters, up to 4 GB)
HD: 3- 250GB Maxtor SATA
P/S: At least a 650w

M/B = MotherBoard

P/S = Power Supply

G/S = Ground/squirrel (LMAO)

O/S = Operating System..IE: Windows XP, ME, VISTA

G/C = Graphics/video Card

RD's suggestions seem too pricey, in my opinion. (I like spending small amounts) He's an AMD guy. But if you want to go Intel, substitute his CPU suggestion with an Intel Pentium D 805. This processor is dual-core, budget smart, yet highly overclockable. If you are planning for a super Intel gaming rig, go for the Intel Core 2 Duo processors.

Core 2 Duo

There's a huge difference between the Core Duo and the Core 2 Duo
Like I've said earlier, if you want decent dual-core processing power, go with the Pentium D. The Core 2 Duo is more on the high-end and pricey side.

so what do I need to improve ground textures, more ram, or a better processor, or both? I have been beaten up with that quite a few time with my screens :roll:
