I'm trying to paint a simple Cessna C172SP (the default one), and I can't figure one part out. I want to use a custom tail number that I painted onto the plane. It's painted on and looks great, except when I add a atc_id. When I do, both show up. Is there anyway to hide the number that you put into the aircraft.cfg, but let's you use the number for calling the tower?

Thanks!

I realize my description isn't all that great. Since they say that a picture's worth a thousand words, here's a picture of what I'm trying to accomplish. I want the small black tail lettering to be gone, but still be able to have a N number to contact the tower.

Send me the texture file, and I will fix it up. Also, send me the a/c .cfg.

I will do it tonight after work, and have it to you tomorrow.

Sorry, but it will be the next day.

I got your zip, and all is good. But I am time constrained, and will get it done in 2 days instead of one.

Work sucks, when everybody is gone.

Sorry for the delay.

JEEZ, What a pain. No problem though.

Just copy and paste, or delete your "fltsim.4* and replace with the below.

[fltsim.4]
title=Cessna Skyhawk 172SP Gran Aire
sim=Cessna172SP
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=gran
kb_checklists=Cessna172SP_check
kb_reference=Cessna172SP_ref
atc_flight_number=N277GT
ui_manufacturer=Cessna
ui_type="C172SP Skyhawk"
ui_variation="Gran Aire"
atc_airline=Gran Aire
description="A stable and trustworthy plane, most pilots have logged at least a few hours in a Cessna 172, since it's the most widely available aircraft in the rental fleet, and is used by most flight schools. Since the first prototype was completed in 1955, more than 35,000 C172s have been produced, making it the world's most popular single-engine plane. One of Cessna's first tricycle-gear airplanes, the 172 quickly became the favorite of a growing class of business pilots. Its reliability and easy handling (along with thoughtful engineering and structural updates) have ensured its continued popularity for more than 35 years."

It will call your flight number in ATC, and, you won't see the original black call out.

NOTE TO SELF: NEVER play with FS9 untill you have a pot of coffee in you.
