Question
I have one question regarding "MyTraffic X" for use with FSX...is there a subscription fee that comes with the use of this product. I have read over and over all the neat things it does but nowheres does it make mention about a subscription fee which I would find hard to believe if its use was free. Unlike Air Nav Systems LLC FS Live Traffic X, the cost of this product is USD59.95 which includes 6 months subscription but then you have to pay USD59.95 every month which is beyond my budget. No wheres is this advertised with "MyTraffic X". Someone please set me straight as to what I will get for the use of this product? Any idea on how it compares with "FS Live Traffic X". I'm especially interested in monitoring flights on U.S. military bases since I'm retired and am eligible for catching hops around the world. Thanks!
I can also be replied to tdemicke@rio.odn.ne.jp

To be honest with you TyphoonTom, there are many freeware AI Traffic solutions out there, and I have found that www.world-of-ai.com has a large library of traffic to choose from, and this includes military. One you have downloaded the installer, it's so simple....... couple of clicks, and you have AI Traffic, which includes ai aircraft and in some cases Afcads.

Go take a look at the stite, get back to me if you have any questions.

Hi all...Thanks so much for the replies...I do know that MyTraffic X is payware but my question isn't getting answered for some reason...is there still a MONTHLY or ANNNUAL payment that needs to be made in order to keep getting the flights downloaded as described in AirNav Systems FS Live Traffic X? This is what I need to know. Also does all this work in conjunction with FSX which I belive it does, I just want to make sure I know what I'm getting. Thank you kindly!

Since you put it that way, let me put it this way. Does it say it is a subscription???? NO!!! So if you were to actually read it, that is supplied with it, then you would know.

If I were you, I would contact the people that have it, and get the info you need from the horses mouth, instead of us guessing what you REALLY need info on.

RD: Thank you for your reply. Your advice was good but you could use a little coaching on how to communicate to people. I'm a member of all sorts of forums where I ask for and give help and I've never been replied to in such a manner. I trust you are a Marine and as such you should be proud of that, but if you want others to be proud of you, you may wish to refrain from such posts, it doesn't reflect so favorably upon the military services. Sorry to have wasted your time. Good luck to you.

Yeah? And I am supposed to believe somebody who is retired on a god forsaken chunk of coral in the pacific where america is appreciated about as much as a boil on a chipmunk's a**? Besides, you sounded so good in your rant about how bad MS' service and support is with regard to FSX. By the way, I posted up a couple of links to HELP you, I hope you dont get too offended by the fact that there are people here who will be honest with you about what they are thinking and still be willing to assist. We call it independance. Why dont you go up to Ona point and get some rest.

Oh, and being of a military persuasion, you should know better than to think that the military would actually allow it's flight schedules to become public domain during a period of heightened security.

Well...I managed to get hold of My Traffic X, my mate didnt like it so gave it to me, and its not very good, I play on a desktop pc and a laptop and it is really crap - full stop. Freeware is better, you get what you want then!

Then I refer you back to my original answer to this opening question, and Crazydunc's choice is also a good one.

I would just like to say - use World of AI - I just started using it again, as I hadn't tried it since Fs9. And its so good on FSX! Infact, it runs on my laptop better than default aircraft...anyway, its awsome, and I can finaly fly around London and see European airlines instead of the bloody Amercian generic crap (no offence its just irratating when its always Amercian airlines when theres obviously more!)

Mr DeMicke,

My communication skills are by choice, a Marine thing. Since you were in the Air Force, you wouldn't understand.

As for my way of posting, and how it portrays me and my beloved Corps, guess what. When some one reads it, and gets the point, that I don't mess around, and see that I am a Marine, they will get the grasp, that Marines don't F... around.

As for your thread, and my posting, I will not apologize (if I thought I was in the wrong, believe me, I would). Instead of asking us, or any other site for help or information, you should have contacted the people that have it, as I posted. OK, so I embarrased you, and then helped you. And I'm the bad guy. Crying or Very sad

BTW, I've been to that unforsaken place. We call it "the Rock", and for good reason. Next time you see a Marine there, thank him. As alot of his brothers died so you could live there.

rd: From reading your posts, I can visually see how you speak to people...well...it's okay while you are still serving on active duty, however that day will come when you retired or separate from the Corps and after your first few days in attendance at the Transition Assistance Seminar, you will very soon learn how unacceptable it is to speak to people in the same fashion as though you were on active duty. Please think about your future, it's okay now, but later it will harm you. As for contacting the people direct about their products, I always belive it's better to hear it from average people using their products, these are people who are everyday people like you and I. Hearing their opinions and getting help from them is often more realistic than from the actual seller.

I don't mean to make waves with you, but please leave the people of Okinawa out of our disagreements. What you have seen on TV and perhaps heard from your people differs very much than what is actually going on here in Okinawa. It's 98% politics...overall the military community here has good repport with the local natives.

I do not expect an apology from you because you did nothing wrong, you are just a bit abrasive in your communications, it's NOT a Marine Corps thing either, it's just you, and it's not a bad thing, but I would recommend relaxing a bit and taking it easy. I have had many co-workers and friends serving on active duty in the Corps and always got along great with them.

Anyway, take care of yourself and be happy.
