Launching soon is a brand new Virtual News Agency which promises to be the most advanced service of it's kind.
As the site is not yet ready, forgive me if I don't divulge the address just yet. I am aware that there are existing news agengies of varying quality around, and I want to keep my cards close to my chest for now.
The purpose of this post is to advertise two vacancies that I need filling before the service can launch.
I would like to mention at this point that we're from the same team who brought you the successful VArecruit website, so we're already established in the VA services market!
I'm looking for people who are articulate, can spell, and are excellent communicators, and the application form has a few simple tests for you!
Do you think you could fill one of these posts?
-----------------------------------
Assistant Editor
The Assistant Editor will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the news desk, answering to the Editor. Depending on how things progress, this *may* become a paid position eventually.
Other duties will include managing the team of Moderators and reviewing member submitted news items, and removing any that are inappropriate.
Good spelling and grammar are essential for this position, as we are looking to promote a professional image at all times.
You will also undertake some promotional duties during our launch phase, to maximise our user base at the actual launch.
If you're interested in this position, please send me a private message and I'll get back to you. Please incluse a working contact email, and also mention that it's the Assistant Editor post that you're interested in.
-----------------------------------
Moderators
Answering to the Assistant Editor, you will be responsible for maintaing the quality of member submitted news items, as well as sourcing in-house news items for the front desk.
Occasional interviews will be conducted in one of our online interview rooms. You will be expected to arrange and conuct interviews yourself, then formulate the news item and pass the completed item to the Assistant Editor for clearance.
Communication skills are of paramount importance in this position, as are good literacy and organisational skills.
As with the Assistant Editor post, if you're interested please PM me with your email address, and I'll get back to you ASAP. Please add that you're interested in one of the Moderator position too.
-----------------------------------
I hope that this posting inspires the creative side of some of you! We're a fast-growing team of sites and we work well together. We hope that you will consider joining our new news team, and keep your finger on the pulse of the ever-changing world of Virtual Aviation!
Thanks for taking the time to read,
