Hello everyone from LewisAire!

First of all: RD, HARKONEN, PMCKAY, MEL WILSON, JAEGER52...thank you all very much for your support regarding Logger's unsavory message on a previous posting, but RD is correct in urging everyone to please not make an issue of it. Logger is someone was asked to leave LewisAire for inappropriate behavior a while back, that's all, and I guess he still harbors some bad feelings. Oh well.

As for LewisAire, we're still going strong, adding new stuff regularly, and every single one of you guys are more than welcome to come join us for a flight or two if the urge ever hits. OR, pop me an email and I'll shoot you our Teamspeak info...you can maybe just come jabber with us some Sunday afternoon Multiplayer session.

Take care, gang, and thanks again for your support. In fact, I extend serious thanks to many others from Surclaro not mentioned above...some of you may recall that the very premise of LewisAire began right here on Surclaro, and I did indeed get help from a number of great folks...for which I am extremely grateful.

(RD - Yeah, pal, you are sorely missed among this rag-tag bunch of misfits! Hope you poke your nose back in one of these days.)

Later,
Garry

Hope everything goes well for you Garry.... Who knows, I may even pop in some time.

Mel.

Gary,

Can i point you in the direction of www.fseconomy.com Its well worth a look and is right up your alley so to speak with bush aircraft and flights. If you need more info on it, and how you could use it, give me a shout and i'm sure i could help you out with some of it.

Hey gents...

MEL: You're more than welcome anytime...even to just hang out, shoot the breeze, and listen as we get lost and crash airplanes (sigh). Send me a PM with your email address and I'll shoot you our Teamspeak signup info.

Ice: Hey, thanks for the tip, partner! I just looked at their website briefly...we already have our own scenery, aircraft, and flights, as well as our own accounting and Operations system, including Virtual Paychecks. But I'll browse it more thoroughly, though; maybe it's something we could get involved with.

Later,
Garry

Greetings Garry!

I often find myself thinking of Lewis Aire and miss being one of the crew! There's no question that you've created a dazzlling diamond in the rough with Lewis Aire. Rich in content and ingenuity! Just browsing through the site leaves one with a kind of north-woodsy feeling. You can almost hear the loons on the lake!

As you may recall, my latest stab at Lewis Aire was fraught with major graphics anomolies that I never really got to the bottom of. And its weird because my system hasn't changed a bit since my first venture at Lewis Aire, which was successful but short lived because of problems of a more personal nature at home. The graphics anomolies are undoubtedly easily cured, but personal problems have morphed over into other areas, sad to say.

Once I am able to more properly adjust the Settings in my personal life and perhaps fine tune my FS Settings , you can bet your ass that I'll definitely come back-packing over the horizon one wintry day, looking for another position at Lewis Aire.

As for the aforementioned Logger character, yes! RD was right! That Sum-Buck is nearly always right, it seems. Wink I was only trying to be upstanding for good ol' Lewie is all. Evil or Very Mad Let the chips fall where they may, as it were. And I would do it again if needs be Exclamation And that's all I have to say on the matter.

Keep the pilot barracks door light on ol' cohort!

Until that time, Garry. Until that time!

Jaeg-

Jaeg:

The door is always open to you at LewisAire, you should know that. Yes, I recall that you were experiencing some difficulties, but LewisAire (or any VA, for that matter) is a hobby, a game..."Life" comes first, we all understand that.

However, if/when your circumtances turn favorable, I may have just the perfect job for you (aside from flying airplanes and helping to make me a filthy rich VA CEO, of course): I need a Manager/Editor for our little newspaper, the Wilburville Gazette.

Thanks for the response, Jaeg...pop in any time.

Garry,

Holy Cow! Shocked

I am honored and excited by your too generous and kind job offer! Shocked

On this special occasion only, I will allow that it is not I, but my dear wife who lies hospitalized this night and undergoing yet more invasive tests as a result of an inexplicable, degenerative back injury that has been ongoing these last two, very long years.

Outlook: Absolutely, completely unknown. Crying or Very sad

Thank you Garry. That's a fine and unexpected feather in my cap and dearly appreciated! Very Happy

And I gratefully accept your offer. I'll just need time (if you have it to give) and composure (where and when I can find it).

Wow!

Jaeg-

When last we left our intrepid flightline hero, Garry had just averted a near disaster by restoring the beacon in the last few seconds before Pete was committed to terra firma on his last landing attempt before instant kawabunga would overcome the situation. Elated that he wouldnt have to replace another airplane this season, Garry sat for a while in the radio shack, taking in the light tapping of the rain on the shack's roof and thinking about the sorority adventure club that had recently booked up all his birds for an entire week. Just then he noticed that there was an unusally loud rapping along with the noise from the rain and a scruffy looking Pete pierced the privacy of the moment. "watcha doin' in here, boss?" He asked with his usual caricature of a farm hand. "just savin' your tail, Pete, just savin' your tail", "by the way" Garry went on "we need to talk about next weeks fare"........

Thanks Garry, I appreciate that, very much.

Although I am not involved with LewisAire anymore, I do miss it. I had a great time there, and met alot of good guys, I do miss. Especially Jim in Alaska. Great guy, as Garry is.

If the chance comes up, I will suggest LewisAire. It is that much fun.

In fact, GS came on, as I left. He has a great story there, a must read.

RD: Yep, Alaska Jim is still here, and still as nutty as ever! I'll tell you one thing, he sure is knocking out some KILLER scenery objects! Your old login info is active, if you ever get some free time. No question that me and the others would enjoy hearing from you. I'll be sending you an email about this...we're doing some stuff differently than we did in the past, especially with scenery.

JAEG: Yes, I recall it was your wife who was ailing...that's a tough one, man; hope everything works out okay. Please tell her the LewisAire gang passes along good wishes. As for the job offer, actually it'll be a big favor to us to have someone running that little rag properly. I try to keep it up, but we all know I can barely tie my shoes with good instructions! Something else you may want to consider: We installed a wilderness resort and lodge in the region (Ridgewood), and we're also looking for a permanent manager up there. (http://www.lewisaire.com/Ridgewood.html)

GS: What a character you are! Well, I have taken the liberty (without your approval, naturally) of posting your little story to the front page of the Wilburville Gazette (http://www.lewisaire.com/Gazette.html). Keep 'em coming, man...very cool stuff, and you sure do have a way with the pen!

Regards to all...
Garry

Sorry, she sorely objects to being called my "beaver". I tried calling her squaw once (she's native American) and had to sleep on the couch for a week. But I'll hop into my PC-6 and take a short hop over anyway.

You should never "try" that without at first knowing what it means. And then when you know what it means, never do it again.
To liken it to a situation... Go into Wats, find a street corner in the middle of the projects and yell "ALL *N's* must DIE" at the top of your lungs, while setting a cross on fire and wearing a fashionable white hoodie with eye slits and a white flowing robe!
You are lucky it was only the couch for a week.

NEVER EVER call an American Indian Woman a squaw!
I'm sorry but I have lost a little respect for you because of that.
I'm Cherokee and Choctaw, in case you are wanting qualification.

She's Chumash and Hispanic, her dad was pure Yokut, her mom was half Central American and Chumash, not sure how the combination came together but it worked for her parents, they were married 61 years. Her family comes from the area around Santa Barbara and were named (Islas) for the Channel Islands by Father Junipero Serra back 250 years ago. Her family has been here longer than just about anyone else.

As far as doing either the Watts thing or what I mistook for an affectionate label, no thanks. It wasn't so much the week on the couch but the look of resentment in her eyes (maybe not unlike yours just was?) that I can still see 7 years later sometimes. After we made up I got a month long education that what you hear in classic westerns shouldn't become common speech, especially when taking her to the coast for visits to relatives still on the reservation there. I tend to not say much, spending my time on the beach or at the casino until it's time to go home.

Yeah, you have to be careful when addressing women. I've been married 5 times, so I consider myself somewhat of an authority on what not to say. Years ago, we had a neighbor whose wife was...well, let's say she was a bit hefty. Okay, let's say quite hefty. I'm not skin & bones, mind you, but neither do I have any fat to give away. Well, for years this lady drove me bonkers with "Man, you gotta put some weight on those bones!" Always hounding me to eat more, eat more! Well, one day it pushed the wrong button and I told her: "Tell you what...unless we can talk about your fat, please leave my skinny alone from now on, okay?" Souned like a fair enough deal to me, but I made an enemy for life with her...they actually sold their house and moved two months later.

(Sigh...)
