Today was the first (and hopefully not last) time that I got a chance to visit the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh. It's about 1 hour 40 minutes away if you don't hit traffic. There was so much to do and to see there, I'm sure I missed something really cool. I took my digital camera, and thank the heavens that digital cameras are around! I ended up with 483 pictures (Glad I bought the 2GB memory card instead of a 1GB).

If you are ever in the Milwaukee/Wisconsin area, I suggest you go there.

I'll upload a few pictures in the next couple days.

Whittman Field is an awesome thing to experience. It's supposed to look like a 1930s airport. I wasn't around during the 1930s, but I'd guess that it is pretty acurate. They have 5 or 6 (maybe more) hangars all filled with airplanes. They even had a couple gyrocopters. Since I'm under 18, I was able to take a Young Eagles flight in a Glasair Sportsman 2+2. That was an awesome experience. Although it was brief, I did get to do some flying.

Link to the museums website, something that could occupy you for days: http://www.airventuremuseum.org/collection/aircraft/

Seeing all these old (and new) planes, really is awe-inspiring to see how far we have come in 100 years, imagine where we will be in 200. Also, the older planes have some awesome paint jobs, especially the detail on the wheel covers. They really have a huge collection, so if old planes aren't you're thing, they have race planes, and if those aren't your thing, they have military planes.

On the way home, my only question was "When can we go again?"

Okay, enough rambling. I'll even throw in a picture (or 2), too!

So I guess it was 5 pictures
