Hi = new to this but having a go at fs2002 (sorry - its all ive got) with 2 monitors.
I've sorted out moving things between them and have made my peace with not being able to have a view on the secondary monitor (as the frame rate is awful)
So I'm having all the instruments and ATC on the secondary monitor - however ATC seems to mess up the frame rate of the main screen also.
Is there any way round this? |

Are you using one or two graphics cards? What card/s are they? Have you installed new drivers? If so, have you completely removed the old drivers? I am using an Nvidia 6200 (N4) and and Nvidia FX5200. Only older drivers support both cards and allow for dual vision (two monitors).

This is what I have and as far as I can tell, the drivers are all up to date:
Computer specs
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.4GHz
RAM: 1GB
Graphics card:ATI Radeon X1300/X1550 Series with 512 MB DDR
The graphics card supports 2 (well theres 2 outputs and I've a monitor plugged into each one)
Thanks for the reply and in advance for any help you can offer

Hey STE69,
Here are some ideas. Google, download and run driver cleaner pro. Use the driver that came with the card. Sometimes, they are the best versus the newest ones. That should take care of driver problems.
Next, use download and use FSAutoStart. That will free up the CPU.

What does this mean, if it means what I think it does, then this post gets deleted....... Mel.
If I am correct, and that is the outcome, can another Mod please do the honours, I dont have Mod status in this forum. |

STE69 is getting framrate issues. I'm just trying to first clear up any driver issues, then make sure the CPU is not doing unecessary tasks.
FSAutoStart is a neat little program taht allows you to set up profiles that shut off un-needed task, freeing up the CPU to "concentrate" on running the flight simulation.
The guys rig is good enough, just something is probably causing an error or "bottleneck".
Please do not beat me

Ok, reboot your machine and try FS without using FSAutoStart. If the joystick works, then autostart is shutting something down. If not, then you have another problem.
Let's suppose it's an FS AutoStart configuration problem. Start FSAutoStart. Click on "programs" and make sure any programs made by the same maker as your joystick do not become disabled when you run the AutoStart. Also go to "services" and look at any service that is being stopped by AutoStart. There are little explanations as to what each service does to the right. See if something there is being shut down by AutoStart.
Remember, if you think you stopped something you should not have stopped, just reboot. It does't permanently diable anything.
Good Luck

| FSautoStart should be for lots of programs. My friends at Aces High (www.hitechcreations.com) use it to reduce the load on the processor while playing the game. |
