radio problems using breitling Super G Constellation"
Hi All,
I am wondering if anyone knows the answer to how to fix this problem I am having with this airplane. When I click on the little button on the panel to bring up the radio stack, it is completely blacked out. Why is this happening? It means I can't set my NAV radios to the proper frequency of the VOR to which I am flying to. Nor can I reset my transponder to a different frequency either.
I'd really appreciate it if anyone knows how I can go about fixing this problem.
thanks

Let us add a Radio to the Plane. First back up the panel file of the Super G Connie--I am working with FS9 --not sure abut FX
Next , go to the panel file of the Super G conie and open the panel cfg file. You will notice that it is a Notepad file and it is structured something like this--EXAMPLE
[Window Titles]
Window00=Main Panels
Window01=GPS
Window02=Compass
etc
etc
etc
Now scroll down the file and you will notice something like this
[Window00]
this has info for the Main Panels
[Window01]
this has info for the GPS
etc
etc
Now go back up to the top and add ----under [Window Titles]
Windowxx=New Radio XX is the next number in sequence
Now scroll down add after the the last numerical file
[Windowxx] -- REMEMBER xx is the NEXT NUMBER
After adding this, go to next line under [Windowxx] and hit enter bar to open up a couple of blank lines so we can add some stuff later
Now minimize this window
Now go to the default c172 aircraft folder in FS9 and open the panel cfg file
You will notice a simular structure as stated above in this C172 notepad file
Notice where the Radio is located in the file,ie, --this is example!!!!!
Window06=Radio !!! EXAMPLE!!!
Now scroll down to [Window06] and copy all the info in this section ONLY
THIS WILL BE THE RADIO INFO
Open up the minimized file for the Connie notepad file and paste into it
under [Windowxx] the Radio info copied from above
Now go to the top of the Notepad file and under file click--- save
Exit out of all open files and restart your Computer
Open up the Super G plane and you will notice on the top of the window the following
flights- aircraft -world- options -view- help- modules
click--view---instrument panel-- New Radio
click--- New Radio
The Radio should appear on your panel!!!!!!
Good luck and happy flying with your plane and Radio |

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to post an update. Apparently there is an unknown bug with this aircraft. It actually works better using 2004 then in FS 2002. However, although the radios appear I still cannot change frequencies on either the COM or NAV radios. Myabe someone has an idea on how to go about fixing this glitch?
Also, I am having a hard time finding the file fs9.cfg in the fs9 folder for this game. I need to make a modification to it so I don't get an error message when I start the game up.
thanks
Ted
It's nice to know there are good people out there willing to help out a fellow flight sim'er when he needs it.

Ted here is how you find the panel cfg file
Go to
C\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Aircraft
Open The Aircraft Folder---Here you will see ALL the aircraft that you have for your FS9. They appear as folders
Now go to your Super G Connie aircraft folder. I do not know the name of it but you probably will see it or know the name of the file because you down loaded it from some where
Now open the Super G aircraft folder--you will see something simular to the following--they are listed as folders and some other files
You will see a panel folder --you will see a sound folder--you will see a model folder and various other files
NOW BACK UP THE PANEL FOLDER
Now open the panel folder and you will see files and info in there. One file says panel--this is the panel cfg file
Open this file and you will see the info in this file as a NOTEPAD file as I explained above in my previous post
Now make the changes to the panel cfg file as I outlined above in my previous post and--- WALLA ---your New Radio will be on your Super G panel |

Ted--the previous post is good but let me give you some better info
I got the Connie file from FLITE SIM and the name of the Aircraft that is in your FS9\Aircraft file is
Breitling Connie
This is the folder that is in the FS9\Aircraft file
OPen this folder--you will see folders,etc
Open --- Panel
You will see files---one is called panel
THIS IS THE PANEL CFG FILE
Open the folder--you will see the NOTEPAD file that I mentioned previously in my past posts
You will see
[Windows Titles]
Window00=Captains Panel
Window01-Radios
etc
etc
Scroll down to
[Window01]
This is the present radio that you have --notice that it only shows that you have a COM2--ATC---ADF----
This is why there are no other radios
NOW DELETE EVERYTHING THAT IS BELOW ----[Window01]
In other words delete everything that is below [Window01] to the dash line that separates [Window01] and [Window02]
BEFORE DOING ALL THIS AS STATED BEFORE BACK UP THE PANEL FOLDER
Now minimize the NOTEPAD window and go to the defalt C172 and copy the radio that is in that panel cfg file for the C172
Go back to the CONNIE panel cfg file and PASTE the C172 radio under the [Window01] in the Connie panel cfg
Now save the file as outlined previously
Close all open files and restart your computer
Doing all the above will eliminate the useless Radio that was in the Connie and replace it with the new Radio
Hope you understand all this --may be at first look it is complicted but go slow and as I said be sure to BACK UP THE PANEL FOLDER before trying all this
GOOD LUCK  |
