Have you tried to diagnose which setting is causing the error message? Try moving the sliders one by one from Maximum to a lower setting to see if this makes the problem go away.
We all know that CLOUDS and AUTOGEN are big resource hoggs. Try backing off on these settings.
Back when I worked for the 5th largest customer of IBM, we had a pet expression, "You can always recognize the IBM Salesman because he always had his Order Pad with him". I worked for the Resource Management department. Our job was to diagnose the problem and tweak the hardware/software settings so that we did not have to purchase more hardware.

this is a stupid question, and i am surprised that no one else has thought of it, or even asked yet.... but have you tried flying somewhere else with that aircraft other than at a scenery demanding airport such as one in the UK?? why not try out that craft on MAD MAX settings say somewhere in the middle of Wyoming, USA first, and then pull your scenery and other sliders down 1-2 notches and see if that helps. Instead of saying... If I run it on MAX then I need more, more, more.
And if MORE anything is what you are truely 100% after, there are only 2 alternatives that I can think of, but 1 will never happen.
1. Offer RD some $$$ for HIS super rig.
2. go buy yourself an ALIENWARE computer such as this:: http://alienware.com/product_detail_pages/Area-51_ALX/area-51_specs.aspx?SysCode=PC-AREA51-ALX-R7&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT#pdp-nav
edit: if the Alienware computer that i provided wont show FSX in all of its glory, then you may need to talk to RD to see about getting his computer, seeing as how "ALL" of his shots look like the ones that Microsoft put out to advertise FSX.... or at least good enough to have been.

Captain Propwash:
You are very intelligent. The first item on the "check list" should be to identify the problem. As my old boss used to say, "Don't just look at the numbers, know what they mean".
See my previous post:
Your first question sounds like someone who used to work with me in the Resource Management department.
Your second option sounds like you are applying for a job as an IBM Salesman. Where is your Order Pad? LOL

| Alright, fellow evil geniuses, let me put this another way. FS is not so memory intensive as it is processor intensive. If you have 2gig, you have a lot of RAM. My old P4-3ghz with 1gig in the slots runs FSX acceptably well, so I am still betting on some sort of setup issue.

Hahahaha! Yes, I tried flying around Lukla VNLK in the Himalayas, it was ok. Frames were up to 20, not bad!
But what I see, is that I load PMDG 747-400X in the FSX main menu. The RAM is ALREADY loaded up to 80% mind, I haven't even hit the "Fly Now" button. It's the same with Cessna's, except they only load the RAM to 65 - 70%. And guys, this is BEFORE I even hit the FLY NOW button!
And to answer a previous question, this is when I have no other programs running but FSX. I got my computer just 2-3 weeks ago, so there's not much I installed on it besides my messenger, browsers, some drivers, and of course my games. Oh, and Adobe CS3 and MS Office 2007, but they were not running.
Either
1) FSX is a HUGE ram hog
2) I must try to get RD to test my RAM
3) I need more RAM.
Lol, option 2 might never happen....
I'm serious folks, once I close FSX, my RAM meter falls from like 90-95% to 25% like a rock falling from the sky.

Here is something else to consider.
When I install the Acceleration Addon, my system goes crazy. I sometimes get vertical black lines in the middle of my scenery. Therefore, I do not have it on my system. No loss because I received a free copy as a Beta Tester.
When I installed SP2 yesterday, I was unable to select Missions without Flight Simulator freezing. Therefore, I uninstalled it.
Without either of the above software, my flight simulator works fine.
Did you consider removing Acceleration Addon to see if this solves your problem?
Did you consider running with a clean system without all of your addons?OOOPS---you must have sent your response at the same time that I was typing mine. I guess that you are not running with any addons.

Sorry but, why won't you just run it on a lower setting?
Also close all background tasks.
Disk Cleanup
Defrag
Error Checking
Viruses
Spyware

Sure, I'll do that. But I doubt It'll work because I got my PC just 3 weeks ago!
But the thing is, I'd rather buy better hardware than have to lower the settings (only if I'm forced if HW is still too limiting). For now, I'm buying another 2GB 800MHz RAM, to make 4GB and then see what happens.

Post a link to your MoBo, please.
First you say your limited to 4gb of ram. Then when I said something about your MoBo, you said you had 4 slots, which means you could have 8-16 gb.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE, AND CAN USE???
If your using 64bit RAM tech, then that may also be a problem, as your on a 32bit system.
RD
PS: If anybody wants my Super Rig, you better cough up $4,000. Seriously!!!

Yes, my 32-bit OS is limited to 4GB. If I have more, it simply won't read more than 4GB. But theoretically, I could have 8 - 16GB.
Current RAM installation is 2GB 800MHz (no idea what other RAM specs could be listed)
Motherboard is Gigabyte X38 DQ-6.
Captain El
P.S. Why do you want to sell your super rig? Why not keep it for yourself and have mindblowing scenery?
Actually, it is NOT for sale. RD

Alright guys, I just acquired another 2GB of RAM memory. So now I have total 4GB of physical RAM. But my computer, as expected with 32-bit OS, only reads 3.5GB.
I must say, overall performance has definitely increased! But I still get an FSX crash at EHAM with PMDG 747 with same "run out of memory" error
Probably what some of you might have expected.. but more RAM was worth it anyway for more reasons.. wasn't too big a hit on my budget, AND it sped up my scenery elsewhere!
But I still don't get it. Why does it crash?? Wait.. I'll post a screenshot.
