I have just obtained EZ-Scenery, I have no problems in using it, just wanted to add some new downloaded objects into the file, does anyone know where the EZ-Scenery objects file is located ?
Straight onto my C/: Drive RD, it found the FS9 path buy itself, but looking in the main FS9 folder, EZ-Scenery folder is there, but no other folders or files are present for the default objects.
I can see them when running with FS9 open, and I can choose all the default content, but I just cant figure where to drop the extra's I have downloaded from Avsim.
Looked in Addon Scenery & Scenery folders, nothing there..
I think you're looking in the wrong place, or for the wrong thing....I had a look at the FAQ page and the following quote indicates that these libraries of objects are already in use in FS - within FS...the default stuff anyway. Look into your FS existing files for these libraries. (I think that's what's going on anyway, not sure...)
" EZ-Scenery deal with two types of files: Library Files and Placement Files. Although both are scenery files, they are handled differently by Flight Simulator.
Library files are scenery files that contain one or more 3D objects. A library contains the drawing information for the objects, but contains NO information on where to place that object in the Flight Sim. Flight Simulator has several Library files e.g. VEHICLES.bgl, GENERIC.bgl and LANDMARK.bgl. EZ-Scenery also is delivered with several Library files e.g. AB_MISC.bgl, AB_VEHICLES.bgl and AB_SIGNS.bgl.
Using a Placement File, one or more objects in a library file can be made to appear anywhere in Flight Simulator.
NOTE: Flight Simulator also has some "protected" libraries e.g. CHICAGO.BGL. The objects in protected libraries may only be positioned in restricted geographic locations e.g. the Chicago region.
To create a Placement File, EZ-Scenery refers to one or more Library Files. The Placement File telsl Flight Simulator to draw a specific 3D object xxxxxxxx from the Library file yyyyyyyy.bgl at the geographic location N/S ##* ##.#### E/W ###* ##.####.
When you click the Add button, EZ-Scenery saves information about the object and its geographic location in a placement bgl file - either a new one or an existing one. The default filename for the placement file is ez-scenery.bgl and if it exists it adds the object to it; if it doesn't exist, it will create the file. "
EDIT: Also, I was curious as to whether you had looked into that 'Library Manager' I saw reference to in your shots. I wonder if it would help. It's probably for when you start amassing a whack of objects other than default.

There are three ways to do this:
1) Make a folder, call it whatever you like, mine is called EZ Libraries,
place both the scenery folder and the texture folder in this folder.
Place this new folder you created into the addon scenery folder of Flight Sim, activate it, close Flight Sim.
Restart Flight Sim and open EZ Scenery. Your library will be named (whatever the author named it) in the Library dropdown menu.
or
2) If you already have an EZ-Scenery library folder going, just add the bgl file and the txt file into the same scenery folder and the textures into the same texture folder. Start Flight Sim and open EZ Scenery. Your library will be named (Authors choice) in the Library dropdown menu.
or
3) Place the bgl and txt file in the addon scenery\scenery folder and
place the textures into the addon scenery\texture folder. Start Flight Sim and open EZ Scenery. Your library will be named (yep, authors choice) in the Library dropdown menu.
Just make sure you read the readme for the name of the objects that you plan on installing, and write them down. I keep several small binders that I write stuff in, to keep track of all the crap I do, and get.
Hark, RD.......... Thanks guys, it's all begining to make some sense now, I have been use to running Rnwy12 in the past, this animal is a little different......... I'll let you know how I get on..
Thanks again
Mel.
EDIT: with the first file I unzipped from Avsim, there is an XML file in there, there is no info on where this file should reside, any idea's would be helpful.
EDIT 2: OK, got it figured, worked out they should go in the EZ Scenery folder.
