Hi Guys. Its me!
~I have started making scenery with AFCAD i make my airports and BGL Comp to do all the buildings, exclude, ect.
~But I was wondering if there was a Really good tutorial for BGL Comp and an explanation of library objects and building creation.
~I dont want any program links or stuff like that unless it is a top rated used-by-the-pros, easy and free.
~Thanks in advance

Well the 'pros' don't worry too much if there's a bit of a learning curve for a useful application, and some do shell out for the programs they want, even to the tune of $3000 for 3DSMax. The rest of us get really, really good at searching for the free apps, and the free answers to our never-ending questions. We usually start here, when it comes to scenery.

hmmmm i couldn't find a good tutorial, but now i have a different question
I have made an airport in AFCAD and have hand crafted a XML document to exclude and add buildings, only problem but i have noticed that the buildings are off, but the cordinates have been generated by Exclude builder.
I have included the files, can you see whats wrong?

I haven't dabbled in scenery for a while, and my experience is very limited as is.
If everything else about your scenery is good, can you just add the buildings in a different manner than with ExBuilder? Are you able to further massage the building coordinates through .XML?
Can you use an object placer to place the buildings?
Are they custom made buildings or already made ones?
I can't offer much, I don't know much...but maybe you can try an alternative way of assembling your scenery if you run into building placing issues. I'll use any workaround that does the trick for me, no matter how goofy or unconventional.

as in heaps do you mean like 4?
this might help, im looking for a basic building, like a place where pilots go have coffee at.
OH and also does anyone know how to flatten the sceanery? where i built it is like a large hill, I've moved the alt up but if i move it up any more the other end will be a cliff.
Thanks for the help!

well i only saw about 4 actual libraries for RWY 12
-also i am having trouble with using the default generic sceanery.
in the BGL 'booklet' there was a thing on sceanery objects that said there would be an oil rig just off the edge of KSEA when compiled and added. I did both and still there was no rig. any help?

this oil rig.... 1. was it an object file from RWY12?
yes - there should be a folder in your ADDON SCENERY folder called "Static Objects Library" and it should be in there.
NO -- did you put it in your ADDON SCENERY folder, go into FS9 / X go to Scenery Library and activate that scenery, then close and reopen the sim, then go to where the RIG should be. (also, where did you get this oil rig so that we can try it out and see if we can get it to work and then get back to you on how to install it.)

Worked for me. Follow the directions in the BGLCOMP SDK, it's straight forward and there's nothing difficult about the process. The oil rig is a default FS9 scenery object and everything you need to place it is already in FS.
...and capt.PropwashKCHS, for what he is doing, those are the wrong folders.

COOL NESS!
After a little headscratching and some work, I FINALY DID IT!!
Thanks for all the help!!
Now the only thing that i need is an opinion. The IACO is KARD, originaly for Aircraft Research and Development. And the name is 'mecca' I think i should change these. but what to?
and also i have an altitude problem, at the end of the active rwy there is a jutting hill, at the end of 18, there is a clif, is there a flattening program i would be so grateful!
If there is anything you would like to see in this, please say so!
Thanks again!

STEP ONE: BACK-UP YOUR FILES
STEP TWO:
Get these two programs -
FSTFlatten: http://home.earthlink.net/~smgreenwood/flatten.shtml
SBUILDER: http://www.ptsim.com/downloads/sb205.zip
Try the program from the first link first. If it won't do what you want, because the terrain elevation is hard-coded, give the program from the second link a try.
...and NO, there isn't an easier way and there isn't a better tutorial and YES this will require a bit of reading on your part. Good luck.
