Hello there,
I had two main questions regarding FSX.
1. Does FSX allow pilots who are playing in the multiplayer environment to join each other's planes as a passenger or a co-pilot/pilot? (Heard rumors, wanted to know from actual players.)
2. Does FSX allow you to search for VORs, NBDs, Intersections, and airways when making your flight plan?
"Search" defined: Typing the 2-5 letter identifier code of the VOR, NBD, Intersection, or Airway into a search box while making your flight plan and FSX finding any of these with the same 2-5 identifier letter code allowing you to add it to your flight plan.

I have FSX Deluxe, and it does allow you to join another player's aircraft IF they have it shared. I don't think you can be a passenger, just a co-pilot.
Haven't tried number 2 yet, don't really know any of them and I usually just let it do the plan by itself.

I'm particularly interested in #2 because in the skies of VATSIM the routes generated by MFS are always incorrect. So I have to either download new routes or modify them myself (Very time consuming.)
So I was hoping FSX would have a "Search" feature so it would reduce time spent on customizing my flight plans.

Exactly what do you mean by a search feature?
You can set waypoints, but I don't know about a search feature.
Perhaps someone with more experience would be more helpful now.
Sorry.

the (gps) flight plan set up in FSX is 100% the exact same as the one in FS9 / 2004. im sorry that there is no "search" box to search for VOR / DME / NDB and such. - see pic below
(EDIT) --- when creating your flight plan, as with 2004, as you put in ICAO codes for the airports "K .. C.. H.. S..." it will track and give you a listing of all that match or are close to what you are looking for. eg. looking for KCH ? it will give you K . C . H . A-Z cause it is trying to figure out what it is you are looking for.
and yes you can SHARE another persons aircraft as a Co-Pilot on FSX Multiplayer (through GameSpy - NOT FSHost)

| Thanks for all the info guys. I was really hoping Microsoft would put a "Search" feature into their simulator. Their "Route Finder" is completely inaccurate and is incapable of choosing a proper exit and entry gate for departure and arrival.
