Hi guy's!

My present computer just went south, so I'm looking at building a new PC. But I don't know very much about the new technologies out there. Of course, price is definitely a factor.

For the moment, I'm concentrating on a mobo and a Processor. ATX Form Factor is a must.

Here's an Asus mobo and intel processor that I'm looking at.

Intel Processor: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0257938

Asus mobo: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0250283

Q: Are these two components compatible with each other?
Q: Can I do better than this for the same price range? What and where?
Q: Does FSX support quad SLI, or is this overkill?

Thanks in advance.

Jaeg-

Seeing as how price is a concern for you, check some of the deals on this site...

I'd personally recommend you wait till the nForce 780i comes out! Wink

Yes they are compatible with each other, but no, Quad-SLI is not possible. Only Tri-SLI (I do beleive Quad SLI is out there... but thats just like having 2 seperate SLI systems 2xdualSLI..)

I have that exact same Q6600, and it is excellent!

But tell me, what is your current budget?

Captain El

P.S. I think it would be a GOOD idea to Tri-SLI it for FSX because my current single 8800 Ultra is having a little trouble running FSX at full settings very smoothly (like 10-20fps). I might think of adding another Ultra soon, or wait for the 9850GX2 Razz
