how do you put repaints on planes i cant figure it out

as in .. how do you repaint an aircraft ??

or, how to do you add Texture files (repaints) to a plane that you already have??

I do not know how to repaint the plane itself, but take your new TEXTURE.?? folder and just put it in the aircraft folder it belongs to. NEW F14 TEXTURE goes in your F14 folder..

Once you have done that, you will nee to open that aircraft's AIRCRAFT.CFG file. Inside of there, you will need to scroll down to the bottom of the [fltsim.??] sections to add a new one which will look something like the following::

sim=f14d..........................(what aircraft does it belong to??)

texture=Hinson.....................(what texture name or # was it??)

atc_id=AA100..............................(what do you want ATC to call you??)
atc_airline=Navy............................... (what airline is it??)
atc_flight_number=100...................... ( Flight number???)

ui_manufacturer=Grumman..............(who made it?? look for this in listing)
ui_type=F-14D ..........................(what type of aircraft is this???)

ui_variation=Steve Hinson Memorial............... (in the listing if you have more than 1 paint, what paint is this??? )

description=This is a repaint in memorial of Steven Hinson.
visual_damage=1.......................(if you have NICKS MASSIVE CRASH installed)

SAVE YOUR WORK. now start up your sim, and go look under the Manufacturer to see if your plane / paint is there.

I think you mean... Where do I put aircraft repaints that I have downloaded, and how do I get them to show up on the airplane(s)?
Unless you mean... How do I repaint planes?

My question is... Did the file come with a "readme.txt", "install.txt" or any other .txt file?

There is a bit more than just moving a file to a location, you may have to edit the aircraft.cfg file to make it show up.
