When I press the APP button on final approach, do I have to deactivate the ALT switch on the autopilot or the Altitude should be set according to the ILS pattern of descent?

No, you do not have to deactivate the ALT or HDG switch. They will turn off automatically once the A/C intercepts the glide path and localizer.
