It's some time since I got involved with 2002, so I am assuming it has not changed since the introduction of fs9.
If you look in any of your aircraft folders, you will see another folder named Panel, rename it to panel.bak I am then assuming you have downloaded another compatible panel for the aircraft in question, complete with it's config file.
just install or drag the new panel folder into the aircraft folder, hey presto, your done.
if the new panel cause problems, delete it, and re-name your old panel from panel.bak to panel. you will be back where you started.
