Any improvement on gear damage in FSX?

I mean visually. I don't mind the way 'ACES' handles the physical aspects of smashing up your landing gear in FS9, I would just like to see the visual damage improved. Crap, can't we have a strut break, or something fold in half and spew sparks or fall off...or something. I just don't care for seeing my wheels sink intact into the runway to imitate visually what would happen on a bad landing in FS9. Is it any better in FSX?

If not, you see why there will always be a 'next version' of Flight Simulator, regardless of frequency of release - there is always room for improvement on something. In 10 years I bet you have a hard time discerning Flight Simulator from actual aviation footage. Just my opinion of course. Wink

That would be a function of damage modeling which will take learning about damage animations and textures. If you look into the texture folder of a default aircraft in Fs9, you will see a bmp with a "_d", that is the damage "map" or texture. I am still learning the texture setup for FSX, but I imagine it must follow a somewhat similar logic with respect to damage modeling.
