Hi All, IM new to this site but yesterday i went on fs2004 and flew to southampton from manchester. 65 miles from southamton ATC tells me my runway approach is number 2, the other runway is 20 yet only the heading and ILS runway for number 20 runway is available.
Has anyone else had this problem because i couldnt land with ILS. Thanks Andy |

I'll fly this route later, and post up what I can find out.
Sometimes weather is an issue.

| Hi Andy. I have just flown that trip to Southampton EGHI. I found on the Flight planning that it only showed the ILS Frequency as 110.75 on runway 20 .When approaching the airport the ATIS stated wind was at 20 degrees @ 3mph so this runway would have been the correct one today for me .If yesterday the wind had been from the opposite direction ATC would then have told you to land on runway 2 ,with no ILS .When the ATC advises you of the runway to use you can change that by asking ATC for an alternative runway ,such as runway 20, and they will direct you there for an ILS landing ,although you would be landing down wind and would have to adjust your landing parameters accordingly.
