I currently have the 8800gts 320 mb edition vid card, and im thinking about oc'ing it to get better performance out of it instead of going SLI which I cannot afford right now. How much could I oc the vid card before I would be getting into dangerous territory and killing the card?
Specs
Amd 4200 dual core
Nvidia 8800gts 320mb
3.5gb ram
Sound blaster auditgy Fataility Edition. |

Learn the basics of overclocking first.
Always remember to go in small increments, and resist your temptation to jump a large gap at once. I would recommend going up in 3-5MHz increments. After you have achieved your overclock, remember to test its stability and see if artifacts are present. |

| i use rivatuner for my 9800gtx. i don't think you can damage a video card with it. if you set it to high, and it fails to load, just go into safe mode and change the OC settings. You'll know if it is unstable when flying for a couple minutes. |

You might also want to make sure you don't cook it with too high of temperatures.
Safety features will stop it if it goes too high, but such high temperatures would damage the chip anyways. |
