Hi to the Forum experts.Just dug up my PSS version of the excellent Airbus A319 to A321 variants they came up with when they were a tour de force in the simulation world.Installed them with a variety of liveries.Alas,on take-off I have to go the length of the runway before I can get the gear up even lightly fuelled, and then instead of accelerating into a climb, all the variants I have tried just die and descend and nose-dive.Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Don't have any issues with PSS's other bigger brother Airbus models such as the A330 to A340 or their excellent 777 variants.

Could be multiple reasons as to why.

The first that comes to mind, would be your trim setting. Before takeoff, reset it.

There's a key for it, but at the top of my head, I don't remember it. (as fs9 is not installed yet)

For me: New Plane...
On runway...
NUM LOCK off...
Hit #5 on the 10 key several times...
NUM LOCK back on.
Outside view of the AP, look for trim tapes, these if shown will allow you to see it the tail of the plane is good to go.

I don't have any PSS birds, so I can't totally attest that this will work but it does work on most if not all other aircraft.
Otherwise trim as you fly. Or set it to a different trim before take off using whatever keys you have set for trim.

Thanks for the prompt response guys.Unfortunately, unlike the PSS 777 Professional aircraft, these PSS A319-A321 variants do not have a visible trim setting.I tried the Num 5 key as suggested.Did not notice anything to suggest that the trim had been re-set.But managed to get a lift-off after trimming fuel to 30% in outer tanks only, but A319 aircraft after a climb to around 3000ft immediately lost thrust despite full power setting and for no explicable reason, just nose-dived.

On the PSS 777 Pro,there is a clearly visible trim setting available at the throttle quadrant

Now for the next obvious question... What is your departing airport when having this issue?

And one more just for good measure... Have you looked to be sure that the plane hasn't been modeled "fat" in the .CFG file? If it is overweight it could cause this problem too.

Thanks Cat1.It does not matter which airport I'm taking off,it's the same issue. And,taking your suggestion on board,I have scanned the
Aircraft.cfg file and there is no such thing as 'Fat' anywhere in the entries.I have even tried it with just 20% fuel in the outboard tanks, still the same problem,no lift,no climb-out,followed by a prompt nosedive.

LOL... by "FAT", Cat1 means that the plane may be a bit overweight in the .cfg. Post up aircraft.cfg on that plane if you could.

It's because you are slewing. I got those models to. Great aircraft but when you slew the trim go down, anoying when you forget it...

Hit Num 5, as other here have sugested..
(make sure the light on "numLock" is not on!)
