That is the ultimate drawback of aviation, it's so darn xpensive. I haven't been able to hop in a plane in so long that I think I'm about to tear my hair out! I swear if I don't get to take off and fly around soon I'm gonna go nuts! $100 is precious in these times, especially when it's already hard to keep the refidgerator full and the rent caught up. So I'm saving my dimes and nickels, I've GOTTA go flying!!!

I have the unique position of being a mechanic in a big military and civilian aviation area. On the rare occasion I get to go flying, mostly due to working all the time, it is usually a ride offered up by one of my customers to show their appreciation for my efforts on their vehicles. Last ride was a Navion L17, the next one (hopefully) will be in T-6.

I want to go to school to be an aviation mechanic, but right now there are too many family issues at hand for me to leave. I'm kinda the only mature person in the group, so therefor I have to stay on top of everyone. Yeah, family biz sucks. As soon as I can, and as soon as I can afford it, I'm going to flight school and mechanic school. Heck, I already know enough about airplanes so it should be a breeze.

I know family are important, and they in most cases come first, but that’s not to say you should neglect your own well being or future for the sake of them……… You did not ask to be brought into this world, your life is what YOU make it, NOT others…. Maybe this will sound a little harsh to some. But if you wish to make something of yourself in the time you are a resident of this planet, then go forth and DO IT……….. Cos no one else is gonna do it for you............ You may not be here next week !!

Mel.
