Hiya, welcome to Surclaro. I had a lengthy post ready a few days ago, then I messed up and lost it before posting...aaargh!
Hmmm...not a Microsoft product...seems to be a collaborative effort.
Not compatible with FSX, etc.
I don't care for the ground textures.
I don't care for the way they list and advertise their sim's features. At the beginning of the page it raves about all the scenery, airports, aircraft, etc, etc, etc. Then you read that for the whole package there is added cost as you add the stuff they rave about.
I don't care for the tiny screenshots...if it's so great...lets see something bigger than an almost thumbnail-size screenie.
Multiplayer is via Google Earth.....big deal.
In my opinion, even running FS2004 with several Freeware enhancements looks like it would be cooler and more satisfying overall than this sim. If you have to shell out for the world-wide scenery, consider X-Plane as an alternative as well. Much better known software as far as I'm concerned.
I didn't care for the skies in Flight Pro Sim...from what I could see in the puny screenshots.
I'd watch out and do my research if I were you.
I'm not propping up Microsoft Flight Simulator for the sake of it...it does appear to me that this sim, even if it's decent overall, is not going to provide the experience of MSFS, especially at the prices offered. Microsoft and ACES Studios have been at this a very long time, it's their longest running series of software, believe it or not.
One advantage of Flight Pro Sim may be it's lower system requirements...but beware of possibly inferior graphics and scenery, (compared to MSFS).
This is all first-look opinion...you may very well enjoy this sim if you purchase it, just be sure you have comparison shopped and know what you're getting. Especially before you shell out EXTRA for add-ons that basically bring you up to FS9 or FSX graphics standards...if even.
Remember, if you don't mind looking for them, there are thousands, if not millions of totally excellent, completely FREE add-ons and enhancements for the latest versions of MSFS; aircraft, scenery, weather, graphics enhancements, utilities...etc, etc, etc.
Hope this helps a little.
EDIT: Oh, and I'm disturbed by the lack of aircraft shadows on the ground in the screenshots...they do help when trying to touch down gently in a 'spot view' situation. (Remember Microsoft FS2000? No aircraft shadows on the ground...I ditched it and never looked back...they smartened up in 2002.) |

Just so everybody understands, you're paying for freeware stuff.

I think I'll stick with FSX & 2004 with all the add-ons available I don't know why I was even looking for anything else. |
Another soul rescued from the brink, welcome back to the real world
