I know and im sorry! It seems that every other post on forums like this are frame rate related but im afraid i'm getting in line.
I have recently bought FS2002 Standard but im worried about some of the frame rates im getting!
My spec;
p4 2.26
Asus p4s533-e
GeForce 3 ti200
512meg pc2100 ram
2 x 40gig HD's (both 7200rpm)
Im getting framerates of 15-20 when coming into land in a built up area with all the faders pretty much set to 80%! I had thought that with my machine, being a fairly high end one, i would be experiencing fr's of 35-45 with the graphics setting higher.
Can anyone suggest what frame rate i should be getting if this is abnormal! I know that if my machine has a weak link its probably the graphics card (although im told that this performs better than the geforce 4 mx series), or possibly the slow ram!
Any suggestions would be very welcome!
P.S. I have heard that placing the MS scenery files on the slave hard disk will increase performance...... any ideas? thanks
Thanks in advance  |

You should be really satisfied with the performance your system gives you in FS2K2.
Look at your System Tray, (lower right hand corner of your desk top), try going through and turning off any unnecessary programs that are running in the background. Then, to be safe, use Control-Alt-Delete and check what else is running in the background. Turn off what you can, (DON'T TURN OFF EXPLORER), and then right click on your desk top and click Refresh. Now start FS and see if the framerates go up. Allot of it has to do with how much processor is dedicated to FS, rather than other programs that your not using.
Hope this helps. |
