Get the aircraft container, panel and gauges as well as the Gmax gamepack SDKs. Then it's homework time, have fun |

| I have a request! Could someone make a realistic operational Harrier. I have been trying to get one for months but none of the downlads are exactly (up to par) in the Harrier flight dinamycs. The Vertical land is very hard to do. It doesn't stay in place when hovering, it keeps moving around everywhere. Now i am not trying to insult whoever made the past Harriers (good try guys) but i would really like a real operationals one. Thanx!!! |

I believe that a 3ds file is made for 3-D Studio, and not having ever looked at designing planes for the sim (I design them for a living ), I'm not sure that is the file format you want.
f2a8, I have only seen a Harrier land once but it did a fair amount of moving around, not as precise as a helo in comparison anyway. |

3DS is a 3D Studio extension.
You design planes for real Cat1? Cool? Which ones?
Wish Lago would come up with a Harrier...their models are quite good.

Well the list is not so long and only portions thereof.
Boeing:
737-300 -400 -500 -600 -700 and -800 (BBJ) Interiors and Ceilings.
C-32A Interior furnishings, ceilings and support structure.
Dassault Falcon Jet:
Falcon 50EX: Interiors and electrical systems. Audio, lighting and such.
2000/2000EX: Same
900/ 900EX: Same
IAI Galaxy (Now G-200 (Gulfstream))
Interiors, mechanical parts and the entire customer add on electrical systems in some cases.
Also have done some work on other planes and airborne sensor systems, like Global Hawk, AIRS and a lighter than air airship.
Now doing electrical design for RVSM certification with various aircraft so you can fly above 29K. |

Personally...I'd go for GMAX because it's free. Yeah, 3DS MAX 7 is waay more involved and can do more...but I could have bought a couple of new microphones for the studio for the price of the latter, and gotten more use out of them as well.
@Cat1...kewl. So you are like...a designer eh? Hats off to you and all others that make flying safe and enjoyable!

| Well, the problem with vertical landing in FS is that there really isn't any way to truly do it. You can modify the flaps to provide rediculous amounts of lift, but typically, the plane becomes very unstable when the speed drops. A short take off and landing is likely the only way you can do it. For a while, I had been trying to build a sort of "parachute" for an ultralight, but as FS does not allow parachutes in there dynamics files, I tried to use the flaps. At low speeds, the plane will of course, pitch down. If you correct this by giving the flaps a nose up force, the plane will begin to nose up uncontrolably at higher speeds. The only way to correct this is perhaps to raise the flaps in increments, but it would largely seem that hovering is next to impossible with FS's current flight dynamics capabilities. |

| I wonder if it would be possible to some how "crossbreed" an FS helicopter with an FS airplane? Maybe some of the helo's flight dynamics could be used on the airplane to get some sort of VTOL effect. |

| Now there's a thought. Maybe a tweaked helo file would work Rick. Probably have to brain out how the rotor could be fooled into a wing flight dynamics wise for higher flight speeds. Could maybe even try to use a modified hover gauge on an aircraft file. All experiments worth trying. |
