| when you use fireworks, you have to copy and paste what you did into MS paint because fireworks won't save .bmp files. |

Most of the prices I can see at a glance for Photoshop is in the US$ 300 range, is that correct or am I missing something? I would rather not spend that much since I need AutoCAD 2K5, that would take all my spare cookies.  |

I have photoshop 6.0, I got it mostly for photo/pic work. It is also very capable to use for repainting, I am learning that myself now. It does GREAT WORK on repainting. You have a choice of multi-layers. I tried the PSP8, and found it very confusing to work with, maybe because I have photoshop.
JASCO is being bought by COREL indeed.
Adobe is more expensive, but can do 10,000 times more. GOOD LUCK
