Hello, i'm not a very experienced scenery designer:
I have a few problems, I want to get help for, concerning object placement with several programs, Tower Viewpoints, (land classes and LWM at a special project later)
I have been told in the PTSim Forum that some objects are based in a region and they won't appear in other places.
Does someone know more about this or a list there these objects are listed maybe even with their region?
That would be very helpful. Thank you!
{edit:} I added some more explanation of my situation from the PTSim Forum
Situation:
My project is to make a big Airport on a manmade island near Tokyo Bay, close to Ise Island in Japan.
(I have loaded a corrected coastline for this region, that also covers the desired place for my Airport. Included are LWM Masks for the coastline, I think. Maybe this could be a errorcause.)
I have builded an Airport with aprons, runways and taxiways in AFCAD 2.21 and put it in a folder, which I activated in FS correctly. This folder, I also use for BGL Files, I produce with SBuilder.
My activated Land Class Folder is Addon Scenery/BASE/scenery without the texture folder of course. The layer is under Addon Airports and over all default scenery.
My problems:
I want to place library objects and taxi way signs on the apron, but they don't appear.
{edit 01: The Signs appear now on the apron, in regions where trees are, it doesn't appear. Also some Objets appear, some don't. Oo?????? hangar5 and 6 in Scenery Builder for instance don't show up.}
I want to build an flat island, there aprons and the rest of the airport could be on top.
Therefore I made land classes on this region, put a Landmask on it, that represents the outline of the island.
The Problem is now, that everythings OK on a certain geometric region, the rest shows the land class tiles and the shore line. I input some pictures of the problem area. Do I probably have to mask the tiles with Water masks manually?

I'm not sure if I understand the request. Some objects are obvious, such as the Eiffel Tower or the Golden Gate bridge, other objects are more common and probably used in most of the scenery. Could you please be a bit more specific in your meaning? Even so, I'm not sure such a list even exists short of writing some sort of program that will decompile/analyze/sort/output such a list.
Oh, hm, some Objects don't appear, if you try to place them with XML and BGL Compiler. Maybe they can't be placed elsewhere.
The BGL Compiler SDK has a List of all objects used, but there is no mark, wich objects could be placed everywhere.
I often tryed to place Hangars or Buildings, but some appear, some don't. That's the Problem. I'm searching for some reasons for that phenomena.
Ahhhhh, now I understand the question. Cant say when exactly I'd get back to you on it as scenery is not exactly my specialty, but I will put it on my troubleshooter list. Maybe one of the scenery freaks will post on it sooner. Have patience, it's the number one asset for playing with FS mods.

scenery freaks? hehehe...
Well, juni66...if you wouldn't mind clearing up your question a little and be a little more specific about what you're looking for, I'll try to answer it.
Usually, regardless of the object, if you try to place an object using XML and then the BGL compiler it'll work. If it doesn't it could be one of several operator errors.
Post a specific object, where it's located, where you want it, and where you found it (add-on, default scenery library...)
Clear this question up and I'll recommend an object placer that'll keep you occupied for a while.
EDIT: And if you're codeing the XML yourself, post the code here as well.
Tomorrow, I will post some images, if needed and one specific example. Thanks that you are willing to help me.
Today , ^^; I have another problem, that often happens, if I insert a new Tower Viewpoint on Airports in the AFCAD program.
They aren't used sometimes. Instead I see a row of houses, if I want to watch a plane rolling on ground. The Viewpoint I inserted at the exact tower location of RJAA (the big tower) works, the Point I inserted at RJTF exact tower location {edit: sorry, it was Nijima RJTN > tower viewpoint location on pictures} doesn't work.
(I can upload pictures os AFCAD Files tomorrow, if it's necessary.) Is it possible, that the Viewpoint Area that's shown in AFCAD (the circle) must be inside of a certain airport area, I don't know of?
