| I heard AGP was better than PCI, because if offers more speed. Then I heard from two people a month later that PCI is better than AGP because more video can pass through. Which is better? |

| The point will soon be moot as PCIxpress takes over. I currently use AGP. |

The Poll is not required...AGP is much faster than PCI. But as GS has said, PCIx and PCIx+SLI are going to rule as the next Lord Of The Graphics Bus.

| Agp is faster (does not depend on the 2x or 4x or 8x, always faster) but pci express again beats all agp-s. Your question is not very specified... if you'r planning for a new pc, go for pci express. |

Hi viche12345,
just to clarify the point: AGP (Advanced Graphics Port) is faster than PCI
After AGP 8x, there is a new technology called PCI-Express.. I believe its written like PCIe (note the extra E). PCIe if faster than AGP
Lately NVidia released a semi-new concept SLI (Scalable Link Interface) - think of it as, if you have two SLI compatible PCIe cards they will share the graphics processing between themself, and you are suppose to get a major performance. As far as I know, this SLI setting is the only system to reach 10000 mark in 3DMark. Expensive though.
Final thought: I am believer that Chip makers are in cahoot with some OS companies, and they are all up to no good If you currently have an AGP system, most probably upgrading to PCIe will mean a new mobo. For upgrading to SLI, you will need a new mobo and perhaps RAM as well.
as Mythrilfan said, if you are planning on a new pc, go with PCIe, unless you can afford a spanking gorgeous SLI system with two NVidia 6800GT... drool |
