Ya, you can't put the texture folder in the default 747 folder. The Default a/c can't use Posky textures or models.

Use my instruction above. Install the paintkit just like you would an addon a/c, make the changes to the model folder/files and copy/paste over your textures.

Worse case scneario...send the textures over to me and I'll do it for ya. Just tell me what model you want to use...

Not in the aircraft.cfg...go to the model folder, open up the model.cfg and change the entry in it to reflect the model you are using.

check out www.msfsgateway.com and search some of the sites repainters use. Other than that, I guess try and find some sites that offer a lot of fighter jets for FS.

Read the disclaimer or readme for models/paints for repaint instructions. Some people don't care, some have restrictions and some don't allow any repainting at all. Last thing you want is to do all of that work and then have a site ban you for uploading restricted/copyright material. Wink

I'm pretty sure your model config was the problem. The errors you described are common to an improper model/config setup. Glad to hear you got it working! Got some pics?

Hey not bad...looks like you got some mips in there though...when you use DXT there's a box on the right that says 'include MipMaps' when saving...uncheck it and your textures will be much clearer.

Good stuff. Looking forward to more from ya!

so uh, i have to repaint the whole thing over? or can i just save them as they are now and just replace the files with what you said (not include minimaps) over them? I noticed that the right side of the plane was a took a long time to load up.

nope...just take your textures, uncheck mips and resave. If that doesn't work then just redo the conversion from Pshop to DXT again. If you saved them as DXT3 then try not to reopen and resave too much as there will be noticable quality loss with each process. 32bit 8888 doesn't matter though as it retains it's bits.

k, lets say i want to repaint the textures from the uhhhh..... default Heli (the smaller one, i think its called Robinson something). When i click on the textures they are all black and i can't open them in photoshop to repaint. Also, don't i need blank plates fromt the plane not the colored ones? because i haven't found any blank repaints and lets just say that there are none, how would i repaint it?
