I am using FS04 and have several aircraft that have pop up radar windows. Unfortunately, they look nice but don't really work. Is there radar out there that works?

Thanks

There are working radar screens (TCAS) for FS2004.

Do a search here at Surclaro, or Google for:

Eric Marciano

Here's a gauge found at Simviation (It's only the gauge, not the aircraft):

FS2004 DSB Eurofighter Radar Gauge & Effects update (fixed).

Another version here at Surclaro:

Search for TCAS2 under FS2004 Utility.

This TCAS works pretty good, the guys voice on the traffic warnings is kind of annoying though. The only other downside is that it's a stand alone program that works outside of FS, it won't appear as a gauge on any panel. It resides in a seperate window during use.

You will need FSUIPC by Peter Dowson installed if you don't already have it.

Very Happy

Thanks for the expertise. I now have working radar. Didn't know I needed FSUIPC. I will read the instructions more carefully. Did alot of research. I hate to ask, but how do I resize gauges? It now works but I can't make it fit properly in more than 1 plane. Thanks again for your help.

The only advice I can give on that is go to Microsoft's site and get the Panel SDK. It does a good job at explaining everything about panels and gauges.

EDIT: Which gauge did you end up installing?

Those units are very impressive. Dancing I am designing an installation for a Westwind 1 that is going to use the 530 and the 430. Do you know if the 530 displays the TAWS info like the real world unit?

I have used the Garmin 530 GPS for about 3 years and will not fly without it. I display the GPS on my second monitor whenever I fly. The Traffic warning system does works well but I do not use it much. The reason that I love the Reality XP unit is because it displays:
Countries
States
Major cities
Towns
Major highways
Medium roads
Railrays

I ended up installing the F16 gauge from Eric Marciano. Seemed the easiest to start. Now I'm going to try the Garmin 530. Wish me luck. I also downloaded the panel sdk. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks

Ok, I give. Can't get it to work. I followed the installation instructions but all I can get is the outline, no realtime info. Please help.

Thanks

OK, well here on suclaro there is a radar that works. It should be in the Must have icon in downloads and on the top of that screen you will see a radar download. well actually I'm going to give you a link. http://www.surclaro.com/fs2002_c9.html

Hope that helps! Wink
