I cannot answer this question, but I'm sure someone will be along soon that can.
However, what you can do for me and the rest of the users of Surclaro as well as anyone else that ever does a search for a problem similar to yours, when you enter a topic heading (or subject) please use a legitimate title.
The solution to your problem, when answered, may help someone else that is searching for the same answer. BUT, with titles like HELP!!!!....no one will ever find the answer.
Thank-you,
from all of us. |

| Well, it's not DXT at fault here. Looks to me like your opacity is set way too high, also double check the alpha for that particular texture map and make sure it's not all black. First, however, check your color setting in your image editor and make sure the opacity is low, low, low, like 5% or less or you will get the see-throughs. |

The questions you ask are really quite involved and take lots of time. Plus, you are jumping from one question to another and that makes it even more difficult.
Obviously in your first question you are missing alpha textures (also known as lightmaps...anything with *****_L.bmp) as GS has mentioned. Go back and check you have those first and double check your opacity settings. Until you do that there is really no point in going further to another question.
Sorry to shut ya down like this but we have no idea what you've done, what procedure you have used and how your files are laid out on your hardrive. Without any of that info, which really would take a LOT of time, its hard to guide you with any answers. And we are trying to help. You could help us out by re-reading the tutorials on installing aircraft/textures available here, and re-reading tutorials on aircraft painting available at Project Opensky's website and others. All of the answers to your questions are in those tutes and it would be much faster for you to indulge in them rather than waiting for a possible response here.
We don't mind taking time to answer questions, but if a tutorial covers the answer and procedures then we guide others to that. Takes less time for all involved and teaches you more that way...
Have fun mate

LOL...okay.
Posky's are easy to paint. Well...for some.
I recommend using Abacus FSRepaint there bud. That way you don't have to boot up FS all the time just to see your results. Use the demo version for viewing your paint as that is all you need. No need to pay for the painting program seeing as you already have that down.
Sorry, kinda busy to provide a link for ya but I'm sure it's on the net somewhere.
Have fun!

| i'm having another problem now but its not like the others, don't worry lol. this time its about the clarity. When i made a repaint (or at least tried) of the British Airways for the 747, the textures on the right side of the plane didn't come out clear and would take a long time to load that side. The left side however would always appear right from the begginning all clear. (i always start my repaints on the left side and then copy and paste on the right side. Maybe this will help) This happened with my first repaint too. Thanx in advance!! |

Make sure your 'mips' button is unchecked in DXTBmp when saving the textures.
Give us a s/s of the problem to further assist ya...

Did you put the ribbon images on different layers? If so you should be able to easily move/resize them...??
