FFB anything uses motors and also puts wear and tear on the device. It was probably considered and dropped for reliability and warranty reasons. Why dont you wander on over to CH Products and ask them directly then report back to us on your findings as a service to the entire Surclaro community. I am sure simming minds want to know . |

| A force feedback yoke would not be a complete package unless you had force feedback rudder pedals, no? |

GS, I did send an email to CH and will post their reply as soon as I receive it from them.
I do use rudder pedals, the ones that came with my MOMO steering wheel. I dont know, had a ffb joystick before the yoke and I thought it added something to the experience. |

FYI....reply from CH.
Dear Rick,
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, CH Products will not develop any force feedback controllers in the future.

| Not that I am demanding, but a brief explanation of their marketing logic or a few of the design protests to that decision would have been enlightening. Oh well, a niche market for those who are interested. |

Hello everybody,
My name is Asveen Seebooa and I am an undergraduate mechanical engineering student. I am trying to develop a new flight control wheel (yoke) for my final year project and I wish to do a survey with all those who are flight sim fanatics…
Please take your time:
1 What is your age?
2 Apart from flight simulation, do you play any other games as frequently?
3 What rating would you give yourself as a flight sim pilot?
A Novice
B Expert
C Professional
4 What platform and simulator do you use? (E.g. PC + Microsoft Flight Sim)
5 Do you have any flight control hardware?
6 If “Yes”, what are they? (E.g. Logitech Force 3D, CH Yoke, Sidewinder Joystick etc.)
7 If “No”, what flight control hardware would you prefer to buy in the near future?
8 What is your preferred way of shopping for flight simulation accessories? (E.g. E-bay, Manufacturer’s website, etc.)
9 If you had to purchase one of the following, which one would you go for:
A Flight Sim Yoke USB from CH Products - $149.95
(Please refer - http://www.flyelite.com/hardware.php?product_id=26)
B Elite Mooney Yoke USB - $520
(Please refer - http://www.flyelite.com/hardware.php?product_id=22)
C ELITE Pro Panel SE Flight Console USB - $1,195
(Please refer - http://www.flyelite.com/hardware.php?product_id=12)
D ELITE Pro Panel II Flight Console USB - $2,195
(Please refer - http://www.flyelite.com/hardware.php?product_id=11)
10 What do you believe would take home based flight simulation to the next level? (Visual sense or sense of feel?)
Thank you very much for your time |

1) 16
2) Absolutely!
3) Few choices, but rather a "B" than "A".
4) Well, MFS9 lol and Falcon 4.0 Allied Force at the moment.
5) Yup
6) Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.
7) -
8) Some kind of shop, a physical one.
9) A of course, because of the price (which is still too much for me. these guys should be competed with!)
Good luck! |

Several years ago, I purchased a Force-Feedback joystick. I tried it for about two or three days and returned it to the store because the sucker would not stop vibrating. Even if I wanted to grab a glass of milk and a bite of cookie, the sucker kept going and going and going.
I agree that a force feedback yoke would be a great idea. Perhaps they will be out someday.
While you are holding your breath, you may wish to consider what I just bought last Saturday. This Butt Kicker makes the whole chair vibrate (connected to the Center/Subwoofer port in the back of your computer). It works best in Cockpit or Virtual Cockpit mode. There is very little base sounds in the Spot Plane view. At least now, I can drink my milk and eat cookies (however I have to be extra careful with the crumbs because the vibrating chair tends to shake them all over the room).
