I have had a bit of a disaster, I removed some aircraft files and now FS02 tells me i need to reinstall the programme again. Does this mean i have to uninstall all scenery, traffic and weather? Or can i just reinstall the missing aircraft files from disk?
I have looked for an answer but my search was unhelpful.
I really do hope i dont have to Uninstall everything and start again. |

Hi scruffyuk,
if I am reading the problem right, what you are saying is, FS2002 is giving you an error: as far as I remember, that only happens of you have removed the default aircraft- Cessna 172
I believe if you restore this aircraft, all should be okay. |

Yes Rana that is the problem the 172 has gone! I was useing your most wonderful software FlightSim Manager and removing some old aircraft i no longer needed, but not the 172?? Then all sounds and panals were gone from most aircraft i still owned. I used to use FlightZip but changed over when you told us about FSManager. I dont know how to put the 172 back Could this be done with out much hassle for a non PC expert? |

You should be able to find it on your FS2002 CD's and just copy/paste it over.

Hi scruffyuk,
sorry about that pal: I didn't know it myself that FS stops if cessna 172 is not found. So at one point, FSM did allow the user to remove that aircraft. But I thought I fixed that thing a long time ago: so when the user wants to remove C172, FSM stops and complains... did you use FSM to remove it? if so, the first thing I would suggest is please upgrade to the latest FSM v2.8 (you are using a very very very old version): you don't know what you are missing..
now, as exx suggested, you can copy it over from fs2002 disks.. they are all in cab format: but if you do a search for all *.cab files for containing text "C172" you will find out which cab file has those files.
failing to do so: this is a cheat in theory.. I think it should work..
as far as I understand, when FS can't find a model to display, it tries to load C172 folder. So, you can either,
a) create a default flight with some other aircraft and never remove it.
or
b) just for the fun of it: download realair cessna, and install it in C172 folder. You may also need to rename the model and air file to C172 (and perhaps the title).. that may also fool FS. |

Hi scruffyuk,
to import traffic files into fsm, you will need a copy of traffic tools by lee swordy. once you have got ttools installed, setup the correct path in FSM options menu.
now once FSM knows about ttools, it will then use it to create traffic sets from existing traffic file, which then you can edit and reinstall. |
