Ummm....hi....everything is all...blocky. and when i mean blocky, i mean REALLY blocky. i have all settings maxed up because my computer can handle it somewhat. i even tried making my settings all maxed down haha but that didn't work so what will? it still has the textures, but they're EXTREMELY blurred into blocks. actually not blurred...thats not the right word...but the colors were mixed into huge blocks. its on the aircraft, ground textures, building textures...pretty much everything. even the sun and the sky and the ocean and the lights on my aircraft. someone pleeese help me i've been having such a bad day haha. I'm running on 1.8 GHz Intel Pentium M processor, 2 Gigs of RAM (yes, it is necessary ), and if someone can tell me how to find out what my specs are on my graphics card are, that'd be great. I'm on windows XP. thanks a lot everybody who replies to this!

D/l this program...tells you everything you need to know about your system...

Then post up a screenshot or two of your problem for further diagnosis. Your CPU is really on the low end for FS9. But give us your system specs and we'll try and help ya out...

My first thought when you say BLOCKY is that somewhere, despite other settings in FS 2004 you have dropped your resolution setting and not brought it up again. Check in display settings for 800 x 600 x 32, or 1024 x 768 x 32 or whatever. Make sure your resolution is set as high as your setup will stand it. If that doesn't do it then make sure that in windows that you have set your resolution up there as well for your overall rendering on the screen. It should be easy to check, in w2000 you go to control panel, then display, then settings and make sure that the resolution slider is set higher (experiment if you have to, you should get at the very least 1024 X 768!) Make sure you're set for 32 bit color while you're there. After changing display settings here I think it's wise to restart the PC. (Windows may prompt you to do this anyway.) Just a thought, hope you are not looking at wierd graphics for too long.

Hi here's a screenshot of what it looks like. its worse than it looks like. the runway looks absolutely terrible, and the sun is like 6 differnt squares. anybody had this before? also the cessna wasn't a good plane to show you, but u can see a little that the textures are blocky.

Can you post up your system specs? That would help in the diagnosis.

Windows XP SP2
Mobile Intel Pentium M 745, 1800 MHz
System Memory = 2016 MB (DDR SDRAM)
Display:
Video Adapter Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller(64 MB)
3D Accelerator Intel Extreme Graphics 2
Toshiba 80GB 54000 RPM Hard Drive
Got any ideas? It's really making me mad haha. by the way has anybody been to Riga International? It's the smallest international airport i've ever seen! Only 6 or 7 gates. But it is nice. I just went there for a tennis tournament last weekend. No, not pro, haha just for school.

Thanks,
Now are you running Directx version 9.0c? If not, d/l from MS and install it and see if that helps. From what I know, the Intel 855GM chipset goes up to Directx 7.x so you may not be able to upgrade to 9 but try it anyways.
We'll go from there.

oh sorry didn't think that was important
well in EVEREST which is what you told me to download, it says
DirectX 4.09.0904 (DirectX 9.0c)
I assume that means i have 9 but I'm not sure cuz it says 4 point blablabla.

Hi myheadspinsincircles,
to me it looks like FS is running in software emulation mode (instead of hardware acceleration)
try going to Start -> Run -> Dxdiag
this should open DirectX diagnostic tool: please check the display property to ensure acceleration is indeed switched on.

Have the latest drivers from Intel for the motherboard/chipset? And is there any setting on the gfx chip where you can tell what speed your AGP is running at? I think Everest will give you that info as well...
