I changed over to a Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 about a year ago. Very weird at first because there is no wire connected and I can go about 6 feet away from the recieving unit plugged into the computer and it still works. I personally love my wireless mouse and have only had to change the batteries in it one time. It has more options than the standard mouse does and I like it alot better. |

I use both and have no problems with either. You changed your batteries only once Sandpiper??? LOL. I have to change mine once a week! LOL. Must be all that painting...
Do remember that wireless units take up more CPU power than hardwired. Not much but they do. And they do offer more tricks and toys over the standard fare. Kinda nice to lean back in the couch and type away...

Love that part, too I could never go back to a wired KB or mouse, or a mouse with a ball for that matter.
The only problem I have is, when the batteries have to be changed. My wife has the same setup on her computer in the other room. If we forget to close the doors when re-initializing them, it knocks the devices off in the other room and visa-versa. |

Heh, I use the "indestructable keyboard", when it gets messy, I just take her to the sink and wash it down, then I'm ready to go.

My keyboard is a Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro... which is the third generation version of it. I had the original... but found out that pear juice and keyboards do not get along very well!! |

| Well, until they can come up with a nuclear powered version, it probably wouldnt work out because you'd have to be able to change batteries or risk them being a throw-away with a permanently sealed battery access. Isnt there wireless USB hubs that could serve a similar purpose? You would have the cord to the keyboard but could still move away from the system. |
