| When I purchased FS2004 ACOF 4 days ago, I initially had some problems. Thanks to you all here in the forums, those problems are over. Thank You all. But, now I have another question. Where's the water in New York City? Where's the East River in New York City? I thought "Manhattan" was supposed to be an island. I thought "Staten Island" was an island. Where are they in FS2004 ACOF? I only see one river in New York City, ( the one running along the western side of the city, ( above the Statue of Liberty ). The east side of town is land-locked. Where's the East River? Has anyone else noticed this? Am I crazy, or what? If I'm right, what's the solution? All the other cities I've had the chance to see in the past 4 days are accurately portrayed. Thank You...... |

You'll find loads of scenery errors in the default fs9 scenery files. If you want more detailed/accurate scenery for a certain area, there are a great many add-on scenery files/meshes that will be more accurate. The file sizes of those can be astronomical depending on what you're actually looking for. There are also payware packages such as the FS/Global package that Exxman did a review on. The data for the terrain in that package was obtained from NASA, so I'm assuming it's fairly accurate. You can read the details in his review. It's impressive from what's he's mentioned, and might be what you're looking for Others will be along to give you more advice, and perhaps better advice. But if you're looking for scenery specific to the New York area, you can type "NEW YORK" in the search block, and search under FS2004 scenery. This will return some options for you and you can move on from there. Happy flying!! |

| If your missing rivers around the NYC area, you have your setting set too low or something. My generic FS2004 COF (with no NYC scenery add-ons) has all the rivers around the islands and NYC with the sliders set to max. |

Agree with Rick, settings to low will not show certian details of the default scenery as well as other things can make them look worse than they already are.
