David:
Email me direct. (garry@jetcoder.com)
I have something that'll get you started, and you can have i for free...I won't be using it. It's a "hacked" keyboard...I took it all apart, found the connectivity for every key-stroke, and ran seperate wires out to a small circuit board. You won't be able to do multiple key-strokes with it (like SHIFT+F2), but if you do some re-assigning in Controls/Assignments, this should be plenty to get you going!
This is what I was going to use before I stumbled into the Hagstrom card...

I just thought it would be a mess with all of the switches...as for your work...well done. I would never have the patience to do them all
Another thing you may have in mind, David is, instead of buying a yoke for 150+ dollars, if you have a gameport on your Motherboard, make one yourslef. You just need the handgrip unit, and the electronics inside are so easy to make, and would cost you 30$ most. I will give ya the schematics I got (from somewhere, cant' really remember where anymore) and it can be used for 4 axes (two for the yoke, and you can do a twin engine throttle control) and if you buy a GAMEPORT > USB convertor, you can even have multple joystics, meaning 4 more axes, for Mixture or Prop control.
Gameport can also accept 4 raw switches (directly, with no interface required, jsut the switch and 2 wires) |

I've got some connectivity prints for the gameport too, and in fact I'll be using it for my own cockpit.
Giving him that hacked keyboard will save him the cost of the Hagstrom card, too....Geez, this kiddo is gonna end up with the first $12 cockpit in existence, hey?

| If you want to hack up a keyboard, just go down to goodwill... i can't imagine they would be more than $2. |

We're on a roll, here...now we're down to a $2 cockpit.
Man, am I ever envious of that David guy! (hehehe)
But I saw on one of the cockpit sites where a fellow had over $200,000 invested in his; imagine how envious he's gonna be!
Ahh, well, anything to promote flying enthusiasm, hey?
