Hello,

I was looking at Microsoft Train Simulator, and it has amazing ground scenery. I was wondering if I could combine train simulator and flight simulator scenery so that fs will have the amazing ground scenery and everything fs already has. Thanks for your help. Ive attatched some train sim screenshots.

Sean

Ah yes i have microsoft train simulator and the ground scenery is very good. I'm don't have a clue if you can, but it would be nice to see moving cars( the cars actually move in train simulator) on the roads in flight simulator.

OK, I'll give it a shot.

Look in your train folders, do you see any that say texture ??? If so, then open it. Now take a carefull look at all of the BMP files, all of them. This will take probably longer than you want to spend, but it needs to be done. ALL OF THEM.

Now, open your fs9 and check the folder that says texture. Do the same, check all the BMP files, again, it is take more time than you want to spend.

Now the interesting part. Did you find ANY of the BMP files with the same name ??? EX: grass.r8 If you do/did, then make a back-up and rename the original * Orig Flight Simulator 9*. Leave the other as is. When booting up FS9, it will skip your * Orig Flight .....9 *.

OK then, now find the files that have the same name from your train texture folder, now COPY it, don't just drag it over from train to FS9. ( HOPEFULLY YOU HAVE 2 SMALL WINDOWS OPEN, ONE TRAIN AND THE OTHER FS9 ) Now highlight the same file on FS9, right click, and hit paste. If you get a box that says overwrite this file, click yes. Do this with all the files that match each other.

Now after you do all that, start FS9 and see if it starts, if so, so far so good. Now go fly something anywhere and see what all has changed. This may or may not work. I don't have train, so I can't test or check into it for you. Your your own genuia pig on this one, sorry.

WARNING : WARNING : It will be very possible that you will change other textures as well as the grass textures if your lucky. Just make sure you do a back up before doing anything. You have been WARNED. I take NO RESPONSIBILITY if you *beep* something up beyond an easy restore if it doesn't work !!!!!!!!!!!!
