Hey man,
if you go to best buy, or maby circuit city, you will be able to find the Saitek X45. I looked at it myself a few times, and it looks great and all, but i think it would be more practical to uy an actual set of rudder pedals for FS9 (This is why most people buy the X45). I myself have a Saitek ST220 Digital joystick. nothing really fancy, just a trigger, three other buttons and a throttle built into it.
hope this helps!

King Air, I think he was referring to the Controls assignments. As far as I know, that is what a profile means. He already has a joystick.
Delman, have you tried searching google? Also, there is one old post here regarding the Same Joystick and the same thing by BobDell.
Lol, both of ya have "Del" in your names...and both have a same joystick problem |

Good point max.
Well, when i took a look at the joystick, and you can pretty much assign all (or most) of the NEEDED keys on the Separate Throttle column that is on the "joy", so you shouldnt have very many problems with that. if you do want to get the Saitek X45, just make for darn sure you dont use the pan views switch on the throttle for anything but views.

Well the 45 comes with a program that allows you to make your own profiles for it.
Really nice program for the 45 (the 52 has it as well). Just click a button on your controller, assign it a key (from the keyboard) and away you go.
Took me all of 5 minutes to setup a really nice layout that I *personally* like.
That or you could go into the FS9 command Key assignments (in options) and do pretty much the same thing.
The one thing I like about the x-45's programming software is not only does it work on the fly, but it allows allows you to store up to THREE keys per button on your controller, and by using the "Mode" switch, you can switch between these.
Perfect for when I am flying on VATSIM. I have one mode set for Fighter jets, one set for props, and another for civilian jets. |
