Does anyone know if there are any approach & landing scenarios available for fs2004, where you can select an aircraft & airport & begin the simulation in the air, ready for landing? Cheers!

Yes, go to Lessons > Complex Jet Checkout (or something like that) and you will see the landing lesson...it will give ya a 737 about 15 miles out, ready to land....

Also, look for the "Dangerous Approaches" downloads. I've actually never tried it, not really an interest too (at least not yet) but from what I hear they're great!

I'm not sure if Surclaro has the Dangerous Approaches but i think flightsim.com does if Surclaro doesn't.

you can also go and get ready for a landing yourself, save it wherever you want (to practice flares, save it on short final etc.) and then you can open it again and practice over and over again

Re: setting up landing scenarios yourself, I used to take off and fly forever, circle around and try to get all lined up for landing at the right altitude and airspeed and then save this approach flight. Save yourself some time if you like and keep straight after takeoff, get to a reasonable approach altitude and then hit 'y' and SLEW that sucker backwards over your runway and as far back for approach as you want, then hit 'y' again, entering regular flight, make a few adjustments and save the flight. It occured to me during this post that all that flying around before I knew how to 'slew' did help my piloting skills along...keeping level turns, appropriate throttle use, etc.

the difficult and dangerous approaches are great fun but if youre trying to improve landings, like me! lol, you might need something with a little less crosswinds and turbulance!
