I was once flying in Alaska, I have a cargo plane that cruises at altitude without autopilot (with flaps, ouch). So I went to work, came back 10 hours later and my plane had hit a virtual 'wall', was still at altitude and flying but going precisely sideways, it would not travel past a specified coordination. The terrain looked like porridge. I'm assuming I was near the top of the globe, and my assumption is that if there is any "skimping" done with scenery and functionality as deadlines loom for the FS development team, it would involve the less populated areas like the North and South poles. There may also be difficulties in these areas due to restrictions or anomolies when creating the sim, in the way the design team 'wraps' the terrain around the virtual globe, could be issues with the overlap or 'seam'? Just guessing now. ....Maybe with the NORTH Pole it's Santa's stealthy StarWars type security system kicking in, maybe you're not SUPPOSED to see what's going on up there! Laughing
